The Bros call this beer world class. I'm not sure about that. It is an excellent Koelsch though. I poured it from the bottle into a koelsch glass. Looks like a koelsch should. It's got a good bitterness to it, with some herbal and floral flavors.

First of this style, reminds me of a golden/cream ale. Good and malty, light, with a hint if corn. Great for a summer day.

12 oz bottle poured into a standard pint glass.

A - Pale golden color, clear, little to no head, slight lace retention.

S - Bread and grains, simple as that.

T - More of the same, with a slight "twang" on the finish. Sensing a touch of grape.

M- Light, crisp, carbonation is spot on.

O - Good beer. Looking to revisit some of the lighter styles in 2015.

ok, but not a huge fan of the flavor compared to actual style.

12 oz bottle into a wine glass.

Appearance: Pours a hazy straw color. The head is a finger high, and white in shade. Texture-wise, the bubbles are fairly small, even if it isn't superbly creamy. Retention is okay. Little lacing is left behind, though. (3.25)

Smell: It has many of the characteristics I look for in a good kolsch: a nice amount of cereal grains, some lemon, grassy hops, and even a fruity tone. As it slowly warms up, its grape character grows bolder. Nothing about the nose bowls me over, but given the no-nonsense leanings of the style, it kind of does. (4)

Taste: It starts off with a touch of malty sweetness, and MAYBE some cereal grain. Then it becomes grassy - almost ridiculously grassy. Hell, perhaps even a touch minty. A slight fruity note (think white grape) finishes it off. It's hard to explain how this pops, but honestly it does. Put it like this: I'd rather just drink this brew instead of picking it apart. (3.75)

Mouthfeel: Crisp and light, this one goes down with absolutely no effort whatsoever. Some of the lingering sweetness could be cleansed off about 10% better, otherwise the general feel is excellent. It's not spoiled by excess carbonation, either. (3.75)

Overall: This tastes like a GOOD German-made kolsch. Enough said. (4)

3.94/5: Excellent example of an underrated style
