A- Pitch black with quickly dissipating 1/2 finger head. Pretty good lacing.
S- Coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruit, tobacco, subtle vanilla, oak, cherry, light bourbon, and goodness.
T- Sweet dark fruits, roasted malts, and caramel right off the top. It quickly morphs into awesome chocolate and decadent coffee from there. Beautiful soft, roasty, woodsy finish with just a touch of bourbon. Aftertaste is roasty with a burn that's more spicy than boozy. Nicely balanced with a lot going on. I wish I could describe it better...
M- Medium thick body. Not motor oil, but close.
O- This is a damn good stout that's well worth seeking out. If you see it on the shelf, please buy it. Any stout fan would appreciate this one. To me, it belongs in the upper tier. Wonderful balance and smooth flavor transitions.

Poured a black body with one finger head that leaves little lace and has an roma of both roasted and coffee malts along with some dark chocolate. Beer is thick and full but still goes down smooth and easy with a strong coffee presence. Balance is great with beer as it is never to coffee or roasted and there's a little bit of chocolate goodness in the back. An easy beer to drink that is great for after dinner.

2013 vintage, cork and cage. Poured in a snifter, the beer is an opaque, blackish-brown coloring with a tall, dense, small bubbled, chunky head of a solid inch that doesn't appear to be going anywhere. Aromas of bitter roasted coffee, hints of campfire smoke, bittersweet chocolate, and woody characteristics. The nose just begs you to bundle up and sip this brew. Flavors are heavily roasted forward, with coffee bitterness followed quickly by the subtle charcoal and smoke of a fireplace/campfire. Creamy highlights, with bittersweet chocolate darting in and out of the palate, and the beer also has some charred wood notes. Very interesting, and very much tailor-made for cold weather and plenty of time to sip. Heavy and smooth in mouth, with a velvety feel as it clears your taste buds. The finish is smoky and bitter, with a coffee linger. Solid brew, very robust and rich, and damn tasty. Glad I snagged some of these to age a bit.
