12oz can with no freshness date.
LOOK: Cloudy golden orange, good head retention.
SMELL: Bready wheat, chalky yeast, powdered clove, dried banana chips.
TASTE: Smooth & crisp, spicy, bready, grainy, yeasty, clove, ripe fruit, phenolic.
Bam! Mother Earth nailed it with this brew ... figures that it is a seasonal, year round would be my thinking. The only thing wrong with this beer is that it does not come in 16oz tall boy cans. Ditch the 12oz sippy cans. ;-)

Thanks to Jason for this can. Hefe in a can? Yes please.
A: Pours a very light hazy yellow color, reminds me of a berlinner actually. Small white head formed upon pouring, but is gone rather quickly, leaving behind a very faint ring around the edge. Not much lacing.
S: Lightly spiced with some cloves, some banana, and some pale wheat. There is a bit of doughy bread as well.
T: Similar to the aroma, lots of cloves and some banana, with a bit of citrus. Not overly complex, but well done.
M: Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Drinks smooth and easy.
O: A solid hefe, plus the can portability gives it a bump in my book. Gets the job done, would be great in the summer on a hot day at the beach or hanging out at a BBQ or something.

A - cloudy, hazy golden yellow; big cap of dense, fizzy, white head; decent retention
S - banana, yeast, straw, faint clove
T - banana, wheat, pear, very faint clove
S - crisp, light to medium bodied, smooth
This is a well balanced, flavorful, smooth, easy drinking hefeweizen. The flavor is on the lighter side but it has all the key elements that make a solid german style wheat beer. It's worth checking out.

Picked up a six-pack at Harris Teeter in Corolla NC. Poured a hazy amber with almost no head. The yeasty, spicy dough aroma reminds me of Sierra Nevada's Kellerweis. The fruit character is very low—just a hint of sweet orange—this is more of an earthy phenol hefe, and that's a fine thing. The carbonation is a touch low, but overall this is a tasty example of the style. The can, of course, also makes it extra welcome at summer outdoor events.

Wow, this beverage impressed me. I am a big fan of the style and was surprised to find this great one produced locally, and from a can.
Pours hazy and bright yellow/golden hazy color. Head is not thick and does not leave much lacing although some is present. Smell is strong of sweet "bubblegum" and banana's. Good, strong and pleasant lighter aroma to this beer.
Taste is great, rellay smooth and on the lighter side with light carbonation.
This beer will definitely be one of my regulars now. Highly suggest purchasing or acquiring this beer.

Poured from a can into a weizen glass.
A - It's a slightly hazy golden straw color with pretty consistant carbonation. A moderate white head which turns into a longer lasting right lacing on the glass.
S - Lemony citrus and clove with a bit of biscuit.
T - A pretty balanced hefe. Some spicy notes pop out a bit more than I'm used to for the style. The lemon citrus and clove are present as well with a bit of a biscuity after taste. I almost think it's a little too balanced. I dont't get any of the banana at all.
M - Very light though the carbonation reminds you of it's presence. High drinkability and probably a very good middle of summer beer.
O - This is not my favorite if the style but still well crafted. One of the things I really like in Hefe's are the banana flavors that can come through and this was lacking them almost entirely.

Glad to see of one NC's best breweries start canning. Pours a hazy golden color with a nice eggshell head that retains well enough. The aroma is heavy on citrus and wheat with some banana and clove notes that are fairly prominent as well, along with a hint of alcohol and yeasty spice note. The flavor is similar, this is a classic hefe all the way with lemon zest and banana notes upfront, along with some clove spiciness, cane sugar, wheat bread and fruity esters and just a touch of alcohol. The mouthfeel is light and sprightly. Pretty solid rendition of a hefeweizen, perfect for warmer weather and extremely drinkable.

Thanks to the creator of the can quest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a cloudy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of wheat, some banana. Taste is the same, wheat with mild banana, a little mild for this style. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing warm weather beer.

A: pours a pale, hazy yellow with 2 fingers of white head that recedes into a thin ring with little lacing
S: light spices and crystal malt up front with a biscuity yeast aroma on the finish.
T: similar to the aroma, light spices and pilsner like malts up front. Biscuit and yeast flavors finish the beer.
M: light body with medium carbonation, this beer is fairly crisp and light.
O: a decent hefeweizen, it could use a bit more depth. Still, it's far from bad.

Poured from the can into a wheat ale glass.
A truly sunny light lemon yellow colored brew, with an opaque looking appearance. Head is bleach white. Foamy. Three fingers off the pour an falls quickly with a sudsy appearance.
Nose has some peanut butter like senses. Dang crazy yeast strain. Spicy lemon and herb from the bouquet comes as well. Different. But enjoyable.
Palate comes with a slightly wet mouthfeel. Flat somewhat tonic and club soda like carbonation, hinting some nice spritzy lemon qualities to match on the palate. Malt chewy qualities seem to be a little weak, but there's a good amount of spicy clove and nutmeg character coming out which makes it quite distinct on the palate.
Overall decent, perhaps not my ideal Hefe, but it will do.

Murky pale yellow hue with a compact, creamy white head that holds briefly before settling to a slight ring. Big wheat malt and weizen yeast aromas...clove, bubblegum, pear, and dried banana. Phenolic clove and spicy yeast flavors over a bit of banana sweetness and a faint lemon citrus note. Snappy wheat and some creaminess. Light bodied and a little lifeless in the mouth carbonation-wise, but crisp. Not bad - if I see this on tap over the summer I'll grab one to see if a super-fresh sample is any different (there's no date stamp, so I'm not sure how old this is).

can from Bottle Revolution, Raleigh
a: agitated in the can, this hefe pours into my mason jar pint a hazy hay-golden in color, an initial push of white head quickly recedes to only a thin ring and surface layer
s: wheat malt structure with a slight fruit-sugar sweetness, yeasty bubblegum, banana, candied citrus, grape, papery noble hops, smells great
m: carbonation moderate-high, composed of small bubbles and lively, body lighter but with a nice heft from the yeast and sugars - not thin
t: wheat malt body with a range of yeasty hefe flavors - bubblegum, tropical fruits, sweet orange, underripe banana - none particularly assertive but combining to a really nice, full flavor, perfectly balanced sweetness, papery noble hop flavors, cleaning up in the finish with a crisp but mild bittering
o: a high quality hefe with lots going on, ideally I like a little more yeast and complexity in mine, but that's nitpicking - the balance here is excellent - and yay for more NC beers in cans

A: A hazy straw color with a thin line of white swirls on top of the beer.
S: A nice wheat aroma with clove and some earthy hop.
T: The wheat malt really comes through in the flavor and blends well with a citrus and clove flavor. The finish is very smooth with a spicy clove aftertaste.
M: A bit peppery from the carbonation and then very smooth.
O: Very good hefe. Easy to drink and delicious. Great feel to it. Very refreshing beer.
