Pours into the goblet the color of translucent schoolbus orange with peachy glowing highlights. A foamy head rises quickly, just as quickly settles to a consistent 1/4" of white suds, becomes spotty despite hard and fast lines of carbonation, and leaves stringy lacing. Aromas are indistinct... with great difficulty I detect the tartness of green apples being spread over a soda-cracker-like malt base. Alcoholic fumes give this a ticklish nosefeel. A bit later, I'm smelling agave. Seriously. Like I'm about to do a shot of Cuervo. The flavors are similarly confused, suggesting banana daiquiris made with cheap white rum, or the artificial flavors of fruit chewing gum. A hint of pear and cinnamon are basically drowned out in the aftertaste. Solvent, winey mouthfeel seems... slippery, floating through the booze and just not "sticking" to the palate. Obviously this isn't a beer to be gulped, but why sip when there's nothing about it that seems worth savoring? There's nothing wrong with high-octane beers, but when I find one that I can only compare to other alcoholic drinks, there's a problem.

Stubby bottle in a similar shape to other Belgian brews. Pretty uninteresting label.
Light golden colour body with bleached white head. Head fades quickly to a ring around the edge of the glass and an island in the middle. Considering not much head is left it clings to the glass admirably.
Sounds like a barbecue that is almost ready to cook on.
Corn, bread, orange, apple and banana aromas are all quite subtle and not putting up much of a fight to come through.
Quite spicy, bitter, lemon, apricot and some banana flavours.
Possibly too lively feels overly carbonated to me.
Overall in my view not that great.

A: served in a chalice. light golden in color, or maybe just blond.
S: some yeast, citrus and a hint of hop.
T: wow. one of the best experience i've had with a beer. not only is the Kasteel blond a pleasure to drink, it's complexity tingles the senses. With a slightly sweet front, the beer gives way to a cornucopia of flavor. Banana, hop, with a perfect finish.
M: medium carbonation. Really a pleasure.
O: I've seen some reviews of this beer out of the bottle, which I cannot say I've tried. The times I've experienced it, the beer came from a tap. Given that qualifier, this is one of the best beers I have ever had. I would recommend to anyone. It's like a Leffe Blond on steroids.
