This is one of those beers that is hard for me to judge because it's just not a style I personally like.

Smells awesome as a cherry beverage, very strong with a slight undertone of extract alcohol.

Nice color dark red, very strong sweet zippy cherry burst, the feel of real cherries and that slight taste of extract mixed in. The taste overpowers any actual beer flavorings, no malt or hop character comes through.

This beer was a hit with my girlfriend that does not like beer, I gave it to her to finish.

The best thing I can say is that ounce for ounce, it is cheaper than cherry cough medicine. The cherry is cloyingly sweet. There is a light tartness that is insufficient for balancing sweetness. There is a bitter medicinal aftertaste. Is this sweetness artificial? Is that where the bitterness is coming from? Disappointing

Bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled on 1/25/2012 not sure how age affects this beer

A: Dark ruby red with a pink head that died fairly quickly

S: Cherry liquor. Cherry liquor. Cherry liquor. haha some other dark fruit characteristics but mostly that sweet cherry smell

T: Sweet cherries, some almost cinnamon taste/warming affect. Interesting. I would have liked a little more tartness to balance out the sweet, but still good

M: more coating than I thought it would be

O: First time for this beer and it is quite an experience. Was expecting a slightly tart cherry belgian ale and get a cherry lifesaver. Like I said, this being my first experience and with 2+ years on it, not sure how accurate this review will be for some people who get it fresh (I got this for $1.50 and didn't check the bottled on date...oops!). Good after dinner drink

A: This beer pours a deep red, with little carbonation.

S: It has a wonderful, fruity, and pronounced cherry nose.

T: Sour on the front end. Tart on the back end. Slightly sweet. Surprisingly, cherries do not impart much fruitiness. This particular beer was bottled about 18 months ago, so I think this has everything to do with why so many people have suggested that it tastes like cough syrup. Age does this beer wonders!

M: This beer is slightly dry, and I think the longer it ages the dryer it gets.

O: I intend to buy a few bottles to throw in the cellar!

The appearance is nothing over the top, pours a nice dark red with a lighter head which fizzles out leaving but a trace on the edge of the glass.

The smell is absolutely fantastic. Nice ripe cherries, enough to make you salivate.

The taste follows up the smell with an intense burst of cherry flavour. Almost like biting into a fresh wild cherry.

Light to medium body with mild carbonation, almost goes down to easy. Very sweet with a hint of dryness in the delicious lingering finish. This only results in wanting to take another sip sooner than later.

This one took me by surprise! Not overly complex but definitely a delicious brew. I'd love to have a few bottles in my cellar.

If you ever tried domestic sour cherry liqueur, this is what beer taste like, and smells also. Sharp,a bit sweet, refreshing and strong. Unlike liqueur, not sticky, and feeling on tongue last shorter. Very good after desserts, especially cakes and pies. Besides cherries, slight amount of wood, pine and earth can be felt.

Smell: lots of cherries dark, licorice, a hint of wood.

Tastes: Sweet but not as sweet as lambic, medium carbonation, tart finish, medium density not too watery not too sticky.

Looks: dark red with spots of brown, head becomes a thin layer

Personality: refreshing, you cannot tell the 8%. It’s a sneaky bastard. Get up and you will feel drunk.

Pour: Start pouring low, tilted glass. Finish pouring high to get a reasonable head, about 2 inches. Although the head becomes a thin layer on top and a little clings on the sides. It tastes better at the recommended serving temperature about 40F

Food pair: Drink as a dessert with vanilla ice cream or drink as aperitif. Drinking it will make you hungry.
