the look is a clear, golden-reddish ale.
The smell is slightly alcoholic, with an effervescence that is almost similar to champagne. There are hints of fruit, with a pearish sweetness and slight spiciness.
The taste is balanced without being too sweet or bitter. The alcohol taste is still apparent as you would expect with 11% but slightly less mellowed than some of the best belgium tripels.
Overall this is a decent beer, but it seems incomplete and could possibly better with age. (mine was about 13 months old from bottling when tried.)

A: light orange colour; clear decent head (that eventually almost disappears)

S: peach and pineapple, orange peel, a hint of pepper

T: the citrus is still there, but there is more yeast, more bitterness and the peppery notes kicks more; overall still pretty sweet

M: dry, creamy, alcohol lingers (not surprisingly)

O: a good solid beer, nothing wrong with it, altough a rather heavy one

A: served out of a bottle, gives some head, looks clear golden color and bubbly. Head dissipates quickly, leaving a thin ring around the side of the glass.

S: smells of fruity esters and alcohol along with sweetness.

T: tastes much the same, as expected from the smell. Nothing too complex here.

M: solid mouthfeel, crisp and clean feeling with a medium body. Pretty nice and dry.

O: As with my Rouge, the bottle was very old - over 18 months in this case. Still, you have to expect a tripel to hold up to 18 months, and I didn't sense anything off about it, just wasn't good. Maybe the year and a half took off some flavor.

On draft at Churchkey:

Pours a golden yellow color w/ a nice one finger white head. Super transparent- this could almost pass for a lighter beer in appearance. Nose is that of apple, honey, grape, grain. Somewhat sweet on the smell. Taste is pretty similar to the nose, with fruit sweetness and malt really coming through. Feel is medium, with sweetness, malt, and alcohol burn all competing for the top character. Overall, this is a good tripel, just not a great one. The good news is that it's priced well, and readily available around Washington DC. A good solid beer, and one I'm glad I tried on draft.

Poured 11.5 oz clean golden amber into a tulip glass, with a fizzy head that slowly faded.

Fresh aroma of light fruit esters and grain, and some citrus.

The taste was balanced and complex, incuding a sweet malty base with notes of apricot, apple and bit of banana, offsetting some slight but not offensive phenol, finishing dry with a presence of mead and just a little hop bitterness.

Wonderful mouthfeel with lots of warm alcohol and a tingle of carbonation throughout, the flavors changing as it warmed.

I could drink it all day except that 11% would knock me out.
