A - Hazy amber with a golden hue around the edges. The 1 finger head dissipates into a ring around the glass.
S - Huge notes of sour white grapes along with a good helping of Brett. Undertones of pear.
T - Tart and acidic but somewhat sweet at first. Lemon sour gives you a good jolt that is followed by tart white grapes. Not really funky at all.
M - Light body, high carbonation and a dry finish.
O - I'm impressed. I didn't get a lot of vinegar like some others had, thank goodness! Would definitely pour again!

A: Golden with a slight chill haze that goes away leaving an beer with excellent clarity. The off-white, rocky head was quick to dissipate.
S: A grapefruit-like tartness with a nice solid Brett, barnyard funk dominate the aroma. The funkiness grows deeper as it warms. There are low malt and light fruity esters of white grape, pear and very low apricot.
T/M: The is a moderate bright acidic tartness with moderate malt and barnyard flavors that balance pretty well. This is on a light bodied beer with an effervescent moderately-high carbonation. There is a slight prickle that seems to come from the tartness and CO2.
O: A very nice Gueuze with a refreshing tartness and a light touch of fruitiness. It's has balance and I'd defiantly buy this again given the chance. Gueuzes are a rare treat for me so I'd best enjoy this on it's own and shared with some friends.

Lost Abbey tulip
A: Pours the traditional hazy light orange color. Tons of carbonation produces 3 fingers of head. Sticks around a while.
S: Smells funky, but not crazy funky. I get white grape, maybe a touch of green apple, lactic acidity, etc. the normal smells but not as pronounced.
T: On the tip of the tongue, a good amount of tartness. But it's not as up front as others in the style or from the region. It's almost softer than the others. After that tart sour, you get some creaminess actually. Maybe some sugars left over? White grape. Green apple tartness. Dry finish, but not as dry as others.
M: Light to medium bodied. Good carbonation.

Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at Mr. Dunderbak's. Served in a goblet.
A: Light amber in color with some haze. Only a ring of foam by the time it's in front of me, and there's a bit of visible carbonation.
S: Sour, tart, lemon, apple, background of funk.
T: Taste follows the nose at first, then overtones of apple cider but with a tannic flat finish. Sour, but not overly so.
M: Light mouthfeel, and maybe somewhat under-carbonated.
O: Good, but inferior to some other commercially available gueuzes in my opinion.

On-tap at Hopleaf. Served in a tulip.
A: Dark hazy orange, decent white head.
S: Perfumy funk - wet hay, slight berry tartness, horseblanket as it warms.
T: Not quite as funky. Lots of wheat, lactic hay, mild raspberry tartness, grape, more tart berry skin. A little wheat in the finish.
M: Slight sharp carbonation, light-bodied.
O: Didn't quite hit the spot for me - came across a bit weak in the taste. Maybe a little too heavy on the young lambic in the blend?

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Best by 9/2015. Reviewed from notes.
Appearance - Clear yellow with no head and oodles of sediment. I can forgive sediment, but where's the carbonation?
Smell - Acidic. Sour apples and lemon. Too much vinegar and not much funk. Boo!
Taste - Like the smell, very sour and very vinegary. A lemon sour with a dry finish. Again, no funk.
Mouthfeel - Dry and quite puckering, but not a tasteful pucker or a complex pucker. Not much carbonation.
Overall - Not a good gueuze, but drinkable. Very sour and vinegary without the characteristics I love about the style.

Served from tap into a Trappe Door tulip. Poured yellow-orange with a two finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, citrus rine, funk, sour, and tart. The flavor was of sweet malt, citrus, citrus rine, funk, and tart. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. I have had this so many times out of the bottle it is seriously not even funny. So when I saw this on-tap I had no choice but try this one. With it being on tap it actually enhanced the citrus aspect of this one for me. I was really happy that this was the case rather than just drinking the same beer over and over. Drink this one rather it is in a bottle or on-tap. You won’t regret it.
