Stopped in on the way home from NC.
This place is a typical Old Chicago, clean & slight beer emphasis
Quality of ber was good, but my mirror pond was served in a chilled glass. You would think a chain that sells as much craft beer would've ditched this practice by now
My srver was friendly & prompt & seemed fairly knowledgable on beer
30 taps, only 3 were wasted on BMC the rest were imports or crafts, but no real exotic or rare choices. Deschutes, Schafly, Boulevard, Widmer & Mothers were amongst the offerings
Food was typical of the chain. I can always find something I enjoy on the menu
$30 for an appetizer, 2 kids meals & 2 beers at lunch

Old Chicago plays towards the crowd who wants to dab their foot into a little bit out of the ordinary, when it comes to trying new "exotic" beers.
The beer card boasts of 110 different beers, most of which are way over priced. I swear it said $4.50 for a bottle of SABL, and other beers alike. The draft portions were much more reasonable. The most expensive of the 25oz beers were $7, and that included the likes of Goose Island IPA, some Schlafly offerings, and Boulevard.
The service was decent. We were in and out since we had a little one with us, but the food came out quick and the beer as well. The salad I got was very soggy, but the pizza my wife got was awesome.
Overall this is a good mainstream place to get some good brew, and it is not over the top for the non beer or non craft beer drinker due to the availability of other alcoholic beverages. I would never call this a Mecca for craft beer though.

This place seems to be your typical chain resturant at first. It has a Applebee's or TGI Fridays feel to it. They are very proud of their 100 beers although this is a great selection there is nothing really out of the ordinary here. The prices are about the same as a major chain resturant as well. The food was pretty good. It came to the table hot. Our waiter was the only problem. He was an overly annoying sterotype frat boy kind of guy. That knew they had a hundred beers but other than that his beer knowledge was pretty bad. He had a as long as it gets you drunk what does it matter like attitude. I would like to go back and just have a dfferent waiter. The lady that brought our food to us was very nice.

I visited this place when I went home on leave from the U.S. Navy. Being that Southwest Missouri does not have a diverse beer selection, this place became a hotspot for me. As far as beer bars in Springfield goes, this one has the best selection. Friendly staff with good food. I found this place to be quite reasonably priced due to its one of a kind nature in Springfield. The only real downside to this establishment is how corporate it feels. Too much like an applebees or something. Great place to have lunch and a few beers!
