The taste is sort of similar to milk chocolate so the cacao nibs are present, i'm also getting some vanilla sweetness. My only drawback is that the mouthfeel needs to be a little thicker. Additionally, I imagine that this porter would pair well with some chocolate donuts. Why isn't there a date on the can Narragansett? C'mon you guys are a big enough brewery to be able to afford the equipment that is necessary for putting on dates on your bottles & cans, you guys better step it up if you want to remain ubiquitous in the craft beer scene. On that note, this was quite an enjoyable double chocolate porter. Cheers! B

Enjoyed from standard 16 oz glass. I have been back to this beer dozens of times. I have had the opportunity to try a fair amount of coffee/chocolate/vanilla porters, and this is by far one of my favorites. This beer is easy to drink, and you will definitely enjoy it if you like a dessert-type beer that isn't too sweet!

Pours a deep brown with a 1 finger head that quickly recedes. Does not have a strong smell with a slight scent of chocolate and a little bit more of malt. Taste matches the smell so not much taste here either but it's neutral flavor makes it very easy to drink if not flavorful or memorable. The chocolate is more like the milk chocolate flavor you would taste in a donut than the cocoa it mentions on the can. No bitterness here which is nice. Carbonation is right on point with just enough small bubbles to give it a fizz that pulls back quickly. Glad I tried it and very drinkable but nothing that would stand out taste wise. For the price and availability though this is a pretty good value if you want to pick something up without breaking the bank. In my area this is $8 for a 6 pack of 16oz cans.

Was able to snag up this pounder for $2.50 at Carnivores in Oakmont. Into a pint glass.

A - Really good looking porter rich dark amber brown almost pitch with some ruby hues at the base and a full inch of mocha tinted head.
S - I swear beneath the chocolate and cocoa smells I get some bready almost doughnut like aroma but its faint.
T - Taste delivers more pronounced chocolate with cocoa and vanilla like sweetness. Slightly dry porter finish.
M - Quite clean easy to drink light to medium body.

Overall far from the desert the title suggests but still a good tasting chocolate porter

Pours a darker brown color with tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, and some light sweetness on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with vanilla sweetness and roasted notes.

Consumed 2/9/16

A: Pours a deep brown, medium brown around the edges - large, creamy, light tan head - fades to a wispy cap, fades to wisps, maintains a small collar, leaves streaks of lacing

S: Maybe just power of suggestion, but this does really remind me of a chocolate donut - lots of sweet chocolate, with milk chocolate, fudge, and Tootsie rolls - not really rich in any way, actually fairly light - some chocolate malts and toasty caramel malts - dark bread - sweet overall, with some molasses and toffee as well

T: Sweet chocolate - reminiscent of a hard chocolate frosting, minus any depth or fat - milk chocolate, cocoa, Tootsie rolls - some roasted and toasted malts, but mostly it's sweetness - dark chocolate and toasty caramel malts - sweet, with molasses and toffee, but the sweetness doesn't have depth, dry underneath - lingering light sweetness

M: On the light side of medium, above average carbonation, smooth, sweet finish

O: I suppose this could be good with donuts

This vaguely reminds me of a chocolate donut, and I suppose that is enough to be memorable. It's oddly light, for something inspired by donuts, but it's interesting. This is definitely not for everyone, but it's worth a try if you have a sweet tooth.

Pours a dark cocoa color. Aroma is chocolate with an over powering cloyingly sweet smell. Kinda like a metallic frosting. Flavor is chocolate but kinda one note. Has a very thin watery mouthfeel. Overall there are some nice elements to this beer but I don;t think I need to drink it ever a gain.
