An easy drinking IPA that's perfect for a day in the sun. With notes of grapefruit, lemon, and a touch of pine- this beer is practically summer in a can. It's bright, crisp, packs a light citrus kick from the balance of hops, and with a lower ABV, you can have a couple and still play volleyball. The Town Beach Day Pass IPA is brewed with two-row, Carapils, Caramel 20 and Wheat Malts, and Citra Hops. It is then dry-hopped with Citra to really drive home the aromas of passionfruit and grapefruit.

A: Pours a clear medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and faint honey colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall foamy beige head that slowly reduces to a medium sized medium thick cap in the center of the glass surrounded by a very thin film covering the majority of the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of bready malts with light to moderate aromas of grassy + floral hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready malts with minimal (if any) amounts of malty sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of grassy + floral hops which imparts a moderate amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin/watery in the finish.
O: Kind of reminds me of a hybrid of a pilsner and an IPA, though a little more pilsner heavy. Easy drinking and refreshing. Would be a good beer for drinking out on the beach.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed light golden color with a small head of white foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving a light bit of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a grapefruit hop aroma mixed with some tropical fruit smell of tangerine, mango and pineapple. Along with these aromas comes notes of herbal hop and a bit of bread and graininess.
Taste – The taste begins with a cracker malt and some of the tropical fruit flavor sweetness that was in the nose. It is paired with a decent showing of a grapefruit hop as well as some flavors of a light pine and earth. As the taste advances the sweet increases a touch while the hop gets a bit lighter, leaving one with rather crisp and fairly clean but somewhat lighter taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather light, with a carbonation level that is high. Overall, for the light nature of the brew and the tastes the feel is quite nice and makes for a very easy sipper.
Overall - A decent easy sipper with a moderate taste and good session nature. Nothing too special or flavorful, but rather good for summer sessioning.

This isn't bad, but it's not really an IPA. (Although my hop allergy kicked in and I started sneezing almost immediately, so maybe it's IPA bona fides are...bonafide.)
As is tradition for Narragansett beers, I crushed the can in my fist and was shortly after eaten by a giant shark.

This is a review of a 12oz can from the Summer Variety Pack. The bottom of the can is a bit difficult to read, but it appears to indicate: "C093 13 04:37"
Appearance: The body of the beer is a medium shade of gold that appears a bit lighter in color when looking closer at it. It has a very cloudy appearance which makes it difficult to see through. The head is very large with a creamy texture that has a slightly off-white color with a very light hint of a tobacco stained yellow in it. The beer leaves excellent rocky lacing in the glass and it has excellent head retention. There are a few particles floating in the beer here and there.
Aroma: It has a light bit of cabbage with a hint of wildflower. A very, very light bit of tangerine is there. It doesn't smell bad but it is just barely on the border of being average.
Taste: It has a very faint orange flavor up front that tastes watered down. Not much flavor at all in the middle of the palate. There is a bit of flavor there but it's difficult to even identify because it's so lacking. The best way to describe it is a very faint and watered down burnt cooking herb flavor. There are weird phenols in the aftertaste. Some mint character builds up in the aftertaste after drinking the beer for a while which is nice.
Mouthfeel: It has a light body and it feels watered down. There is a medium-low hop bitterness which gives the beer a bit of bite when drinking which is nice because there isn't much else to the beer.
Overall: The label states "DAY PASS IPA" on the bottom and "ALC 4.7% BY VOL." It doesn't taste like an IPA at all, and it would barely fit in as a Pale Ale. In a nutshell there isn't much to this beer and I don't recommend it because it is lacking in aroma, flavor, and texture. It's weird because I had Fresh Catch which is a Golden Ale by Narragansett before drinking this and it had a lot more hop aroma and flavor than this. I wouldn't buy it again.

Weird one. Looks great but taste is strange....kind of between an IPA and a garden variety Euro lager.
