A nice summer ale that's hoppier than I expected it to be. The hops come through beautifully in the smell and taste. The hops used are mild, but there's a good quantity of a mild hop variety. That's sort of a unique idea; mild hops in large quantities.
I've been a big fan of regular 'Gansett for a while, but until now I've not been impressed with their higher priced offerings. This six pack was quite a bit more expensive than the insanely cheap regular Gansett. But, a six pack of the summer ale is a better deal than other similar craft beers due to the 16 oz cans.
This is much better than most summer ales I've had. 'Gansett summer, for example, makes an embarrassment out of Sam Adams's summer offering. I'm so glad this brewery came back from the dead. They should brew a beer called "zombie Gansett."
