Picked up a 6pk of pint cans from Tenutas in Kenosha, Wi.
Poured in a lager mug, the color stood out beautiful dark gold, with a slight orange cooper hue. This was to be the best part of the beer. The head left quickly.
It had a odd sweet aroma, with a sour background...I keep smelling what I could only describe as mushroom, odd.
The first taste, is tangy sweet, metallic, grainy metal that lingers on the entire mouth. Heavy, and hearty malt on the tongue as it warms. Odd sweet, dry, metallic taste still apparent.
It is drinkable, not too bad if your not trying to pick it apart. I was looking forward to this old New England brand. Hope their other styles are better.
The label says "Hi neighbor have a Gansett" I'd have to say have something else.

A: Gold / amber lager; pours very clear with a fizzy head that builds fast and dissipates quickly.
S: Not too much going on; a bit of malt maybe. Pretty neutral experience.
T: Not bad for an AAL; rather sweet with just enough spice to keep me interested. Sixteen ounces went down very easily.
M: Again, better than I expected; there's enough here to elevate this beer above most of the macros I've tried.
O: This beer surprised me a bit, and I might just reach for another on a sweltering summer day. Definitely a cut above many of the pale, watery offerings to be found within this genre.
