this seems like the perfect american lager if thats what you are looking for.
not much of a head, maybe 1 finger. bright golden color, clear and clean.
nice smell of malt and a touch of hop in the backrouund. clean taste, nice lager feel withouth the cheapness you get from most.
clean finish, refreshing and very drinkable. reminds me of PBR but i like this better.
will drink this again, thats for sure. great lawnmower beer.
I rate this a 5 overall because i am rating it by its style. its not trying to be an IPA or euro lager.

White head but not much too it. slightly malty smell. clean finish. very refreshinging lager but cleaner than most adjuncts. happy to drink it again. can is better than bottle for carbonation and appearance of head. this may have been a bad bottle cap as it was slightly flat. tast was fine but carbonation was very low. not much head at all

16oz tall boy poured into an imperial pint

The body sits a clear straw color with a bubbly two finger cap that rises to fill the glass. Head falls quickly, leaving no lace. Loads of tiny bubbles push their way north.

The nose is of green apple skins, honey, cereal-like grains, and pears. Pretty standard for the style.

On the palate, green apple and sweet cereal grains carry through to a finish of pears and some light dry, earthy hops.

Light body, dry, but not as crisp as others in the style. This guy is a little juicy and sweet.

Honestly, you can't beat the price, $5.99 for a sixer of tall boys. This is a pretty straightforward example, slightly above average for the style.

Ah Narragansett Lager. I discovered this brewery when I was stationed in Connecticut during my Navy days, and I was very happy to find them stocked here in Jacksonville. On to it.

A - Typical AAL appearance. Gold color, fingers worth of head that doesn't stick around too long. there is some lacing though, so that's promising.

S - Not much smell here, some corn and that's it.

T - Here's where 'Gansett shines. Good corn profile, seems like good quality sweet corn. Three are perceivable malts and hops in this brew, mainly seems like bready and sweet malts and earthy bittering hops. Still, the fact these are evident and add to the beer in an AAL is great. Well balanced overall, and very clean. Finishes smooth and clean. This beer defines greater than the sum of it's parts.

M - Light, nice carbonation, and smooth. Good job here.

O - My friends in Florida think I'm goofy for taking a northeastern lager as my go to beer. It truly is one of the best AALs around, and at $6 for 6 pints, it's a good deal. There's always a sixer of this stuff in my fridge!

Poured from the can into a shaker pint glass.

A real nice dark and twenty four carat gold body, with lots of rising carbonation. Crystal clear, with a thick white rich head and lots of staying power. Not much lacing though.

Great bready malts, toasty sweet. Nice faint sense of ripping grain and cream, slight sugary corny sweet. Interesting.

Palate seems a little hammered down. A real nice solid body with carbonation and almost creamy, but the palate seems to be a subdued malt crispness. Richness from the nose hinted doesn't seem to come through in the taste.

Overall though still quite solid for a mass lager style, I could have this again easily and it's a great alternative to others similar in the style.

Poured from 16 oz can into a pint glass

Appearance – Pours a straw color with a two finger white head. The head fades fast to leave only a moderate amount of lacing.

Smell – The aromas are heaviest of corn. Mixed with the corn are lighter aromas of a caramel sweetness as well as a very light bready aroma.

Taste – The taste is a blend breadiness and corn up front. These flavors create a body for the beer. As the taste moves on a light caramel and an almost grassy like flavor greets the tongue. These overall sweeten up the taste of the brew and leave a very nice flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is much thicker then would be expected with the carbonation level being on the higher side. Rather nice actually.

Overall –For $1.05 for a tall boy this was a fantastic brew. It would be a great session brew so if going for a long steady night it may be a good choice.
