From BeerAdvocate Magazine #74 (Mar 2013):
Dedicated to the original founders of Narragansett and the company’s 122 years of existence. Big and hoppy as one would expect, it boasts 122 IBU’s to match the years of existence of the brand … our palates register “very hoppy.” A big departure from the tallboys of lager we love. Happy to see them branching out a bit more.
STYLE: American Imperial IPA
ABV: 8.6%
AVAILABILITY: Limited
LOOK: Clear, deep copper color, ample lacing
SMELL: Minty, citrus zest, faintly catty, earthy, peppercorn, rose water, caramel, tropical fruit, slightly biscuity, alcohol
TASTE: Smooth, creamy, chewy body, toasted grain, caramel, papaya, resin, semi-aggressive hop bitterness, very grassy, leafy, nutty, orange rind; semidry, hoppy finish

Poured a hazy dark copper hue with a one finger foamy. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured an earhty caramel and herbal hop.
The taste consisted of burnt caramel and a biting herbal bitterness that lasted through the finish.
The mouthfeel was typical of the style.
Overall an interesting DIPA.

22oz bottle poured into a Nonic pint and finished in a snifter.
A: Opaque amber body with a frothy beige head that has excellent retention as well as copious lacing.
S: Smell of bread and citrus hops
T: Sweet carmel and bread malts. Piney hops
M: Nice full body goes down easy. Leaves a nice bitterness on the tongue.
O: fairly nice well balanced IPA. Probably wont drink again since it was a limited release but it is a good beer.
