Grease burger bar on clematis in downtown west palm beach is THE place to get a good burger in town. Located in this trendy area of clubs, pubs and boutiques is a non pretentious sort of place that palm beach seems to lack at times. Pretty good beer selection, i'm guessing it was over 60 selections, even a couple of 750 ml bottles which i didn't expect. Last time i was there i had the BBQ Durango Burger that was excellent, my pops had the black and bleu burger, damn good both of them if i do say so. Show up hungry here, and i dare you to try the grease beast, you won't be sorry!

Oh, how I wish Grease were located closer to my home. It's probably a good 45 minute drive north from my house, but Grease is an awesome burger bar in downtown WPB. They have a great craft beer selection and their burgers are phenomenal. South Florida has seen somewhat of a burger explosion in the past 2 years. It seems like a new burger joint is popping up every week, but Grease always stands out to me. Even a regular burger, fries and a decent craft beer make a terrific meal here and prices are certainly reasonable. You can catch a game on one of the TVs while you eat, and there's always a good crowd of locals to hang with. I wish they'd expand with a new location further south and closer to me.

My wife and I were vacationing 15 minutes north of what I would consider downtown West Palm Beach (where Grease is located) and decided to visit the only brewpub in town, Brewzzi's, in nearby CityPlace lifestyle/shopping center.
After a beer at Brewzzi's (we decided not to eat there), I pulled out my iPhone and pulled up reliable Urban Spoon to find the closest best place to eat. Grease had a very high rating, my wife wanted a burger, and a couple of reviews mentioned a good beer list.
It's not part of the manufactured and chain-heavy City Place but still pretty close and it appeared there was a trolly running between City Place and the genuine historic city area where Grease is located. We drove the 5 blocks but could have walked had she not been 7 months pregnant.
Grease has a long, somewhat narrow interior dominated by a historic bar and lots of TV's showing Monday night football, one baseball game, and the US Open. They were advertising the NFL ticket so I imagine it's a good place to come if you need to catch an out of market game.
The lengthy beer list is written on the back wall and they do have a printed version. They have a couple of drafts but most of the better stuff is in bottles (or cans as many crafts are headed this way). I can't say there was anything exceptional about the beer list. It had most of the good stuff that's widely available in Florida. Would have been nice to see more of the limited state craft beers available. I went with a can of Oskar Blues IPA for $6 because it's one of the few beers they had that I could not get in Ohio. They also had a couple of 750 ml bottles "to share."
I went with a Greek lamb burger and my wife when with a standard burger with avocado and a canjun mayo. We also had sides of fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. The food was all excellent and this place could hold up based on that alone.
In relation to the beer-deprived area, this place is very welcome. The three criteria I look for when not on a beer trip are: unique atmosphere, very good food, and a respectable beer list. I could not ask for anything more from Grease when it comes to these three criteria.

ate at the Grease Bar while entertaining family in from out of town. we ate out virtually every night for an entire week, and this place was a hit; one of their favorites (and ours too!).
atmosphere: we ate an early dinner during the week, right around 5pm so there were only a couple patrons at the bar and we were about the only people seated and eating when we entered. that being said, the atmosphere was still cool and we were able to take our time studying the recently revamped beer menu on the chalk board!
quality: the quality was great; the place was clean, the beer was fresh, and the waitstaff was attentive.
service: again, the waitstaff was very attentive. perhaps because we were virutally the only one's eating at the time, but hey...i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. our waiter was a pretty knowledgeable guy in terms of the beer, and was more than willing to offer suggestions for both the beer and food menu.
selection: this is a burger joint, so if you're looking for sushi it's the wrong place, but in terms of burgers they've got several variations, all cooked to specification, and from a look around the table everybody was well served!
food: the burgers are world-class. i've had alot of burgers in my time, and these measure up with any i've had. the fries and onion rings are worth checking out too!
value: the food menu is fairly priced, and the beer menu is also very fair....during happy hour, it of course gets better which is great given the wide selection of higher priced craft brews; the only way to sample so much any cheaper would be to show up to a tasting at a liquor store!
check it out! salud!
