Nice place. Lots of space and a good atmosphere. Food was decent and beer selection was quite good.

We stopped here after the GABF - on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park/Estes Park from Denver.

Everything about this place is great. They have their own beers on draft, in addition to many guest taps - mostly from
Colorado - and a few other regions (California, NY, etc.).

The bartender was extremely helpful and friendly telling us about their beers and the local beers.
The food - was awesome! All their meats (ribs, brisket, wings, etc.) are smoked for 4 hours - and their sauces are made with their beers.

Restaurant décor was cool and the place was immaculately clean.

If you want some great bbq and great beer, definitely go! We'll be back next time we're in Colorado!

Oskar Blues continues to stand as a pioneer in the Colorado craft, and I can't say a whole lot is different here. Food was okay except the wings were outstanding, beer selection was completely on point, but atmosphere felt a little like Cracker Barrel and TGI Fridays mixed... Not trying to be a jerk, all I can say is I respect their offerings and will continue my faithful patronage...

After a long drive to kick off our CO vacation on 07/24/13 we stopped at Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids and Solids at about 6pm. First I will say that happy hour(s) is from 3-6pm. The deals are great during that time, but...it makes parking very tight and brings the noise to an exceptionally high level. Once happy hour was over the place cleared out a bit and the noise level came down to a point where we could hear the much appreciated blues and classic blues rock.

I lucked into a parking place and seeing the bit silo outside got me a bit excited. We were greeted by friendly hostesses and seated promptly in a booth. There's a swag area by the entrance which makes it a bit hard to get to. You'll see lots of cool music and beer related items plastered all over the walls - some of it signed by celebs. The bar area isn't huge, but it's definitely cool with what seems like hundreds of tap handles hanging like stalactites from the ceiling. We were unaware of the patio so I didn't see it. The atmosphere is a fun comfortable roadhouse type vibe. They had all their regular brews plus a good sized menu of regionals and some others - something like 50 beers to choose from, but hey I'm there to drink OB.

You can see their menu on their website. They have specials every day - I had a delightful pesto salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw. My wife's brisket was surprisingly tasty and my daughter's mac and cheese was crazy good. Our waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable and the food was delivered quickly even though it was quite busy. She said the chicken wings are the best she's ever found and the burgers are her second favorite thing as the beef comes from OB's own farm. Note they also have the "Chuburger" joint a few blocks away. I hear their crab cakes are a big deal there too. I had a delectable Deviant Dale's and Gubna while taking it all in. Great beer, food, music, atmosphere, and service. I would be a regular if I lived there. Cheers y'all.

There are two Oskar Blues very close to each other and coming from out of town, the one on Pike is the first one we stopped at. It's the brewery. Sometimes they have food trucks there and they are dog friendly at this one. We kenneled the pup and went the extra mile to Hover.

This is great from the front entrance, though the inside, to the huge outside seating. One day a week they have live music and the upstairs is set for that. There was nothing happening upstairs except (I assume) an employee working on her laptop. We sat downstairs and had a couple of beers and a meal. There are album covers, pictures of musicians (autographed too), and stuff to look at on the wall and for decoration. There is a lot of comfortable seating: tables for four stools, and booths. They play blues (go figure). Southern hospitality theme here.

There are 48 beers on tap which includes their beers and guest beers. There is a selection of canned beers, too, and soft drinks and lemonade is available. What more can you ask for? I didn't think to ask about wine or cocktails because we were having too much fun and I forgot.

The food was excellent! We were expecting Cajon style but that is available at another location. However, the food is still southern style and there are healthy selections. I had a hamburger (beef is grass fed) and shared some sweet potato fries. I didn't even need any condiments; the beef is that good. Desert was excellent, also. I recommend this place!

There is plenty of free parking in their lot and I suppose the street would be available for overflow. Our server was fast and friendly and the other servers and employees always greeted us. My only complaint is the three young women that were supposed to be seating customers: we had to wait while they finished their conversation and then one turned and said, "How many". It wasn't busy so it's not like they were working so hard to smile or say "HI".

My son and I were out for the GABF and hit Longmont and Ft Collins on Friday.

Atmosphere - Very upbeat, obviously given the weekend the place was hopping, we sat at the bar and had some good beer conversations with some local folks who eat lunch there evey Friday. Loved the album covers on the wall in the men's room :)

Quality - Have all the Oskar Blues beers on tap, had a great selection of other craft beers with an emphasis on Colorado beers, had Pliny the Elder on tap which was very nice. Barkeep was great at getting us a couple fo tasters as we considered what to select. Good selection with a list on on deck beers to tap.

Service - Can't complain, friendly, folks behind the bar knew their beers.

Selection - Very good, Avery, Upslope, Russian River, Left Hand and obviosuly Oskar Blues

Food - actually pretty good, excellent portion size, was quick and hot.

Value - I thought it was a fair value

Stopped here for lunch one day while out in Colorado.

The place is very large and open inside. It's got that typical craft bar/brewery decor of tap handles everywhere, signage and antiques on the walls, etc. It came across as too busy/in your face to me, but I can appreciate the vibe they're going for.

They have a ton of great beer on draft. Probably 10-20 of their own stuff and another 25+ well-picked handles from all over the country. I wound up getting a one off of theirs and FW Double Jack.

Service was as good as can be expected, very friendly.

The food was pretty good, but bordering on mildly expensive for what you got (but nice big portions).

Overall this is a great place to grab some BBQ and check out some great beer, whether you like Oskar Blues or not.

Now, this is more like it. A nice restaurant, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and great beer. Combine that with the jazz/blues feel and music, and the outside patio and we're talking fantabulous.

We had appetizers to go with our beer lunches. Nachos and wings. Darn good. The Old Chub sauce is the bomb-diggity.

Long tap line. OB stuff, plus CO stuff, plus other stuff. Large enough place to not wait on most nights, but I can see lines forming in the summer.

Not much else to say: it's a must stop!

A really cool place. Laid back though busy and surprisingly clean. Really cool lay out with a nice size bar, outdoor seating, and lots of indoor seating. The food was enjoyable and the beer selection very great. Worth it just to try the fresh tap Deviant Dales but lots of choices from many other great brewers too, both local and national. The service was really accomodating and friendly. The price was certainly fair, they offer some nice lunch deals if you can make it there early enough.. Glad I finally got off my lazy ass and made it up there.

This may have been my favorite stop on our "beercation." Not only did I love all of the OB brews, I also enjoyed many of the guest taps they had on. There were many local beers offered, which was great. I believe in all I sampled about 15 beers while at OB. Selection was great and the quality was even better. Atmosphere was interesting. At the bar it was a little hectic, but in an upbeat, how can I help you sort of way...not really a bad thing, but not necessarily laid back.

The food here was GREAT. The salad I had (June Carter) was the best I had on the whole trip. Everything else I saw and smelled seemed delicious. Service was quick...very little wait time for food, and almost no wait time for beer.

Overall, I wish this place was located next to my house. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!!!

Located jus south of the mall area in Longmount. Oskar's has a backwoods southern feel. Kinda kitchy, but not in your face.

Everyone seems to be having a good time and the vibe was good.

The beer selection features Oskar's beers, but they also have a bunch of local and premium taps that begs you to stay. I was offered some free samples when it was evident I couldn't handle all the selections. Lost Abbey, Stone, etc. were of note.

The food looked to be more of a southern flair with ribs and cheesy mac.

Overall, this is a great place to hit. With all the great selections in the area it is hard to say a "must hit." However, I will make sure to hit this place again if I'm in the area.

A big place, nicely located away from the hustle and bustle of any major city. Great vibe; not the kind of thing I'm usually into, though it was well-executed to the point where I really enjoyed it. Folksy, with a lean towards a Southern/Cajun theme, purposefully cheesy, but not annoyingly so...this place was a lot of fun, even just to walk into. Lots of stuff going on at any given time, and there was even a little folk-country band playing right by the door. A good sized bar, lots of tables, two floors (and I didn't look upstairs so there's probably another bar there too), and outside seating. Lots of wall decor, but delightfully tacky, not in a [name your chain] way. Scads of old records line the walls and the bar, and dozens--perhaps hundreds--of tap handles hang from the bar ceiling. There's even an arcade room in the back!

Service was great, and we had one of two bartenders looking out for us at any given time. Tap list was above reproach, with nearly 50 beers on tap, mostly local stuff--including of course, Oskar Blues' tasty brews--but with some items traveling from as far as CA and the east coast. Food was great as well, with a lot of Cajun-style or quasi-Cajun-style selections to go with the general vibe of the place, and other general comfort foods. My wife had a salad that she claims was the best she's ever had.

Great place. Fun, full of beer, and not too pricey. I'd love to go back some day.

We stopped in for a couple sampler flights and a light snack while travelling through on our way to Laramie, Wyoming today. The atmosphere was great. There was live bluegrass music when we walked in the door. We sat out in the patio area. It was a beautiful day so that added to the atmosphere. The beers were good and the two sides that we ordered to share between the five of us (3 kids, my wife and I) were very tasty. The service was awesome. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. My wife and I even said that if we weren't travelling on we would have liked to just hang out for a while. There is a horseshoe pit become sandbox outside and the kids were entertained playing in the sand and the rocks out in the patio area. They were happy and we were happy.

Travelling through from Denver we had loads of options to hit up today and I am very glad that we chose Oskar Blues.

I chose to say "a bit pricey" because the flights were a little more expensive than at many places I have visited around the country. I suppose that with the selection they have, they can get away with it though.

This place rocks! Went there just to have a few of my fav beers on tap. Let me tell you the cans are great but doesnt beat on tap at the brewery. The people that work there know everything about there beer and will share and talk all day! All the people I met there were very friendly staff and customers. They do brewery tours all day long and I was hesitant because I just wanted to sit and drink but I took it anyways. What do you know it was a great time also. They did the usual but the tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun! It was my birthday the day of the tour so he gave me a can of dales that was canned that day with the date on the bottom. Pretty cool i Thought. Must stop if you are in denver or boulder make the short ride there!

It has a New Orleans slash blues vibe to it with beads and concert poster decor. All the people seemed friendly in there and all the patrons having a good time.

Prior to this I've only had OB in cans (minus one Ten Fidy on tap) and, while I thought the beer was pretty good, it never blew me away. I can say I have a newfound respect for them. I had both the Deviant Dale and Velvet Elvis and found them both extremely satisfying. I can imagine some of their other one-offs are just as good.

On top of their 10 or so Oskar Blues selections they also had a pretty respectable list of guest taps which, by my following of the tap list before and up to my visit there, is rotating.

Food was good. Not great, but solid. I had a shrimp etouffee. My local friends that took me there speak very highly of the rest of the menu, though.

Value was about what you'd expect from a brewery that also takes it's food seriously.

I'll definitely be back.

We had a group of six. The place was small, but very interesting and artsy. Good beer and ok food.

A- Very artsy with a blues theme. Unique paintings and posters with a giant ceiling fan that was very interesting.

Q- The beer selection was great. They didn't offer huge selections but what they did offer was great quality. Their Ten Fiddy was a favorite by all.

S- The place wasn't crowded when we were there so the staff was able to pay personal attention to us. Very helpful and toleratied a lot of rowdiness from us. Very knowledgable and friendly.

S- The place had a very nice selection for somewhere so small.

F- The appetizers we had didn't blow my mind, but not bad for bar food.

V- Very reasonable.

A. The atmosphere was great, despite the fact that we were there early, and there was almost nobody else there. You could tell that this place would be great once they got busy. It had a very comfortable feel, and I especially loved all the tap handles hanging from the ceiling above the bar.

Q. We tried several of their beers as well as some of the guest taps of which there were plenty. Everything we tried was fresh and of the highest quality.

S. As mentioned above we were there early, they had just opened and were still getting things ready for what they expected to be a very busy day. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very busy but he still took the time to stop and talk beer with us, and offered us samples of anything we wanted (we told him this was the first of many stops we were making that day so we couldn't drink much of any one beer.) The only knock on the service was that the bartender convinced us that while in town we should also visit Left Hand, and gave us directions. After the 5 minute drive we found they did not open for hours.

S. The selection was outstanding! They had all the regular Oskar Blues beers as well as some different variants of them (ex. oak aged TenFidy), as well as a multitude of guest taps, from several Colorado breweries as well as Russian River, and Dogfish Head.

We had a great time, but definitely would like to go back when they are busier.

EDIT: Since the original review below I've been back a couple times and I would only consider the food "ok" to a good. If I lived in town I'd eat there but not worth driving from Denver or Fort Collins.

I was expecting big things and this place delivered on all fronts. The décor is that stereotypical artsy, bluesy, folksy (you know, put shit on the walls) look that is played out and yet Oskar Blues can pull it off in spades. This place looked great and it had the perfect vibe.

As you walk in the first thing you notice is the bar, errr, taps. Lots of them. I've had my fair share of great beers and I've been in my fair share of great bars and the tap selection here is no joke. With a healthy base of Oskar Blues' beers how can it go wrong? The "guest tap" list was wonderful.

Our group of six split a smattering of appetizers and they were all very good. The nachos were solid; the fried mozzarella was great as was the fried pickles, good hummus too. No complains on the food.

We were thrilled you could do sampler platters of beer and after we finished our pint we ordered two 5 beer samples to share. That was a lot of fun.

Our waiter was new (we came to find out) but we was very attentive, helpful and knew enough about the beers. I was pleased with the service. Oddly we watched two customers yell wildly at the young manger on duty about their poor service. We watched their table (as it was next to ours). They received their water right away and the order was place promptly. They didn't order drinks and about 10 min. later they went on full freak-out mode. We thought their actions were so absurd we spoke the manager and told them what we saw.

There is a small arcade in the back for the kids (of all ages).

We drove down from Fort Collins just to visit this restaurant and we were thrilled we did. Awesome beer... good food... good atmosphere; highly recommended.

Summary: Go for the beer. Don't go there hungry.

Sat at the bar. With so many fine beer bars/tasting rooms/brew pubs in the surrounding area, I find it amazing that anyone can open a place and expect to survive financially given the finite number of beer drinkers. Lots of wood and stone when you walk in. Very open. Cool and inviting. Patio out back is a nice addition, also. Hit or miss service at the bar. My feeling is that if you work at a place like this, you best be an expert at what you serve. I wasn't convinced. Decent variety. Everything OB makes and about five seasonals that don't make it to the can. Very good selections of non OB beers, too. Beer was served perfectly, ~50-55 degrees for the IIPA, Brown, and Imperial Stout I had, and was light on the carbonation. Food is a different story. Don't be fooled, the five quality rating applies to the beer only. Be warned of the oysters. They came in muddy liquid and were bland with a slight off flavor (not bad, just not quite right). Shrimp were considerably better. A colleague had the humus of which I had a taste. It was not memorable.

Would I go back. In a minute. The beer alone is worth the trip. I will, however, strictly adhere to a liquid diet.

Here's my update. Go often. Probably once a month. Have not been disappointed. In fact, everyone I introduce to Liquids & Solids agrees, this is a great place. Atmosphere great. Beer selection and quality great. If I lived in Longmont, I'd be there twice a week. 1/22/11.

I was there last night. The bartender- great guy. Talked beer -not just OB stuff- but all the beers they had on tap. Not sure of the exact number, but a lot. Handed out samples easily, to make sure we got the beer type we wanted. -Thanks to Steven for letting me know that they had just tapped the Gov nr. (sp?) It was good. Sweet for a DIPA. Food was good, but all I had were a couple of appetizers. Nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed this place and want to go back soon. Did not find the crowds that have been rumored about. I'd like to stay for about 5 beers and then get a ride home.
Oh, and Dale was in the house, but I didn't see him.

Have stopped in a few times since this place opened...and enjoyed every single one. The tap lineup is a craft beer fans dream with strong local and regional quality choices. The food was very good although the last two times the portions have been a bit smaller than before...still for the price it's reasonable.
Back to the beer...over 40 taps with OB of course, but strong choices from Left Hand,Ska, Boulder, Russian River, Lost Abbey and many more. My only regret is they are so popular it's tough to get a bar seat on the weekend nights!

Stopped by the brewery after a stop to their brewpub in Lyons. OMG this places is the BOMB. Was in the area for GABF and one of the assistant brewers gave us a personalized tour. We had just missed the bottling line in operation. However we were there on a Friday and got to get in on the Firkin (Firkin people up every Friday at 5pm!!!!). Place was fairly crowded, but the staff behind the bar had smiles on their faces and served as fast as was reasonable. I will be back, I had to drive the group I was with this time and didn't get to drink as much as I wanted, next time someone else is driving!!!

Spent a lot of time here last Friday. Lunch AND dinner. I really enjoyed the experience and ended up staying at the hotel across the highway. The draft beer selection was really nice. 40 quality beers on draught. I had two beer flights, which was a really nice change of pace. It was fun to try small samples of a bunch of different beers. Then I drank a lot of Older Viscosity and Whiskey Barrel Gordon. Those were the two best beers on draft. I ate the Salmon, the green chile and also had a burger and fries. They were all really nice dishes. I found the service to be really good. For as busy as the bartenders were, they did a nice job. The video game room is small but really nice. They stuck that multi arcade game thing in there, so I was able to play Ms. Pacman.

One complaint though: I didn't order wine, but what the hell is with those wine glasses. If I ordered wine here, I'd be disappointed. You can't even swirl and smell the wine. Change the glasses. What the hell.

Overall, Liquids and Solids is a pretty amazing establishment. Dale is a really impressive businessman. I'm really impressed by this place and hope to visit it as often as I can. I wish it were a little closer to Loveland though.

Oskar Blues is arguably the coolest bar I have been to and one of the best overall. This has got an awesome beer selection that includes their beer, Russian River, Deschutes, Abita, and more. It is like they are not afraid to show off the best of their competition. They also have about five of their beers on tap that are not available out east, or maybe anywhere. The prices for food and beer are reasonable. The atmosphere is a combination of blues and nature. They have a nice outdoor section that looks like a mountain lawn. The inside of the bar has all sorts of rock and roll paraphernalia from record covers to t-shirts and more. Each table also contains an open empty can of Oskar Blues as decoration. Great atmosphere, great beer, a must stop for any trip to the Denver area.
