Served in a snifter glass.
Appearance: Slightly hazy amber, definitely a notch cloudy, tiny bubbles on the body and maybe a 1/4" white head to go with it.
Smell: Light floral scent, and fresh hoppy feel. Not bad at all.
Taste: Bitter but lightly sweet, I give it this definitely doesn't taste like the 9+ percent abv level that it is. Lightly malty and as far as taste, very easy to drink.
Mouth: Feels medium but comes off slightly heavy which should be good to most. Feels almost if not identical to tap considering carbonation.
Overall: Pretty good beer but not in my top 5 when it comes to the best Double/Imperial IPAs. I really like it and definitely has a lot to show for it. The overall beer is complex but doesn't need a little tweaking., doesn't mean it's bad just you know there's room for improvement. Salud!

A: not much head, nice lacing though. Dark amber in color
S: maybe I'm a bit congested or something but I don't get much on the aroma.
T: very good. This is an interesting beer because the initial taste is boozy with raisin flavored like a Belgian double or something but then you get that hit of citrusy hops which finish with an intense and excellent bitterness. Good.
M: nice. Light and then bitter finish is very pleasant
O: this is a solid beer...interesting because of the booziness while still maintains hoppy character

The pour was a nice typical high IBU orange hue. The head lasted but only a few seconds.
But there was no question about hops here. Lots of different hops all coming out at once.
Once I got past the aroma, my first sip verified what my nose was saying. It was a nice dry bitterness, grapefruit, pine tar and citrus spices. But then, what else? that was it, there wasnt anything else. I wanted some malt to balance the bitterness, but with this beer, I just got bitterness without any roundness .
Even though this was a mid range IBU (70), the taste presented itself as being higher, but without a lot of the typical high IBU styles.
So, I walked away from this one with mixed emotions.
