471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy.

Pours a cloudy dark orange color with a massive foamy 3 finger light tan head that faded very slowly and left good spotty lacing sticking to the sides and a layer of foam on top.
Smells of grapefruit, citrus hops, orange, piney hops, caramel, light brown sugar, floral hops, tea leaf, fresh cut grass, flowers, sweet malt, light spices like pepper, and some cracker; the alcohol was very well hidden by the hops and was not evident at all. Not as explosive as some hoppy IPA smell, but still a nice aroma.
Tastes like citrus hops up front, with grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, coriander, lightly roasted grains, brown sugar, piney hops, herbs, grass, floral hops, caramel, sweet malt, pepper, and some alcohol heat; the hops attack the taste buds and really have a kick, but the malt provides enough balance to make this drinkable and even a tad grainy at the end. This is not a session beer, but it’s tasty and complex with ice oily citrus hops and grains working well together.
Mouthfeel is oily slick and smooth with mild carbonation, a medium body, a chewy feel, and a tart bitter finish that was full of citrus flavor, caramel and sweet malt to make for a pretty drinkable DIPA. Not the greatest DIPA, but still really good and worth a try.

One of my all time favorites. Wish I didn’t have to drive to Colorado

Nothing stood out for me. Average ipa with acholoic notes. Was too bitter.

Strong initial flowery flavor that dissolves into a mid-tone maltiness that's uncharacteristic for a double IPA. The finish is neutral. A good double IPA overall but confusing in some of its flavors.
