Breckenridge 471 IPA is boozy, bland, and bitter.
It poured a hazy amber, with a short and short-lived tan head that left a good amount of lace. The smell was metallic-boozy and the flavor had pale hints of citrus and earthy pine, but was generally bland with a metallic finish. The feel was the highlight of this ale, thick and chewy with a stong long-lasting dry finish.
Due to a lack of flavor, 471 is forgetable and can not be included in the discussion about great double IPAs that are so common now.
