A: The beer is hazy light orange amber in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation along with lots of particles floating in suspension. It poured with a thin beige head that quickly died down and left delicate lacing covering the surface and a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are moderately strong aromas of citrusy hops in the nose along with notes of pine resin hops and hints of caramel malts.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell but has a good balance—the citrusy hops dominate and contribute a medium amount of bitterness but this kept in check with the underlying malts, which contribute hints of malty sweetness to the initial taste along with notes of caramel. The finish is mostly bitter.
M: It feels medium-bodied and relatively crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is relatively easy to drink because the bitterness isn’t overpowering and the alcohol is well hidden from the taste.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 4/1/2014. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy orange amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, peach, citrus rind, floral, grass, caramel, bread, light pine, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of bright citrus/tropical hop notes with moderate malt sweetness; and good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, peach, pineapple, orange peel, floral, grass, citrus rind, caramel, bread, pine, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, peach, pineapple, orange peel, citrus rind, floral, grass, pine, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity of bright citrus/tropical hop flavors with moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a crisp and moderately slick/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity of citrus/tropical hop flavors and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

This beer is thick, a heavily opaque medium-dark orange. It forms a creamy pillow of yellow-tinted head on top that sustains itself very well for the long term and drops thick and heavy spotting down the glass.
The aroma's good and it has some heft, just not DIPA heft. It's lacking a bit of strength, but it's not much, and it develops some as it warms. It's clear that hops are the foremost concern, and what I get on the nose is pretty much what the tongue tells me with more detail and clarity.
What my tongue tells me is that this beer is deliciously hoppy. Lots of resinous pine and juicy pineapple are even through the entire session. Grapefruit pith and zest make up part of that aspect, but it's tamed by the balance from malts, caramel and toffee, and the juicy pineapple. A touch of biscuit comes out later with more orange zest and some gentle spiciness while pine stays strong.
Crisp, smooth, and well carbonated, the medium body strays toward heavier territory but keeps it bright and clean.
