dark amberish with orange highlights. off-white head that holds forever and leaves tons of lace. nose to me is grapefruit and grain overlying a golden caramel character. taste is a harmonious blend of citrus, grass, tropical fruits, pine, a touch of caramel and some semi-sweet bread. very nice. well done. medium-full body that has cleansing carbonation mid palate, yet remains creamy. piney, grapefruit ring bitterness in the finish, and an alcohol component that seems to fit in and amplify rather than offend. a classic dipa that definitely should not be looked over. finesse and balance on this one. very very very good.

I had this one in a glass stein.

Appearance- The head is dense and fizzy, bone white in color. It got to about a finger in width and has very good retention. The body is a transparent copper-orange. There are a bunch of carbonation columns heading to the lid.

Smell- Very sweet tropical fruits are in the glass. There is some passion fruit and pineapple. A resiny scent also mingles underneath. Maybe even a little biscuit malt sweetening this up.

Taste- Big wallop of bitterness hits the palate immediately. It overloads the palate for a second, making anything else seem muted. After the bitterness begins to back off, there is a soft hint of the tropical fruitiness from the nose.

Just a slight grapefruit flavor. What really sticks out is the slightly earthy and resin hops. They have a way of just covering the palate and creating a very long finish.

This drink would be perfect with bigger tropical fruit flavors so apparent on the nose.

Mouth feel- It is not nearly as creamy as some better DIPA's are. It is also a little watery, which is not complimentary either.

Overall- This DIPA has real potential. If Breckenridge finds a way to extend and enhance the fruitiness on the palate, this one could be really special. Up the creaminess of the feel and I would be going back to this one on a regular basis.

As it stands, it is a decent DIPA.

Pours a golden amber color with great clarity. The head is two-fingers+, thick, white and creamy.

The nose is faintly spice and fruit with some malt sweetness.

The taste is light, biscuit-like malt with nice bitterness throughout. It finishes crisp and dry with a subtle and lingering alcohol warmth.

This is definitely an IPA worth checking out. Nicely balanced for a relatively high ABV.
