Poured from 12 oz. bottle into pint glass.
A: Brown with hints of dark red in color. Lighter than your normal porter. Light tan colored head which sticks to glass as comsumed.
S: Scent of vanilla gives this beer a nice sweet aroma. The usual scents of coffee and roasted malts are blended well, but remain in the background.
T: I am a fan of vanilla, and I really like the aroma of this beer. That's where the vanilla ends for me. I am geting all of the vanilla in the nose, and not in the taste. The taste has sort of a porter-light feel to it. The combination works for me, but not exactly what I was expecting.
M: The mouthfeel is a little more syrupy than I would like. Probably the result of the vanilla sweetness, that isn't really present in the taste.
O: Overall, I am a little disapointed in this one. I certainly won't have a problem finishing the six pack I have, but I also won't be running out to get anymore.
