A - Poured with a brown body that showed some ruby highlights...the head was white in color and stood one finger tall...after a few seconds the head had completely disappeared and not much lacing was left behind

S - The vanilla is noticeable but never comes across as too dominating or too sweet...there is a roasted malt presence and some chocolate that takes that sweet edge down a few notches

T - Everything carries over from the nose...the vanilla actually starts off subtle, but grows as the beer has a chance to warm up...the roasted malt and chocolate balance things out as the come out in the middle of the beer...the chocolate flavors provide a hint of bitterness and that plays a big part in balancing out the sweetness...the dark chocolate and vanilla team up for the finish

M - Medium bodied...it's a little lighter than I'd like, but that also helps the drinkability...I would have liked a little more creaminess

D - The vanilla was not hard to find in this one...it paired well with the porter base and the low ABV and lighter body made this one very easy to drink

Serving:12oz bottle

Appearance: at first pour, somewhat decent creamy head.
Very dark. After just a few sips the head was completely gone.

Smell: very mild. Coffee and vanilla.

Taste: Bam! Vanilla. First sip was strong vanilla with light coffee undertones. Surprisingly not as thick as I'd imagined. By about the third sip, the flavors swap. Vanilla becomes very light with a sweet coffee becoming the most dominant.

Mouthfeel:Very light and a little sweet.

Drinkability: Not too filling. I think if I drank two in a row, the vanilla would be too much.

A: Nice dark brown. Creamy grey head.
S: Smooth smell, a hint of chocolate. Rather malty.
T: A really good taste. The vanilla has a hint in there as well as some chocolate notes and some malty notes.
M: Sits with a good amount of carbonation and body. Some nice lingering flavors.

Overall a very nice beer. Not as complex as say, the founders porter, but this beer brings a lot to the table. The variety of flavors could make this a versatile beer. It is easy to drink but also very flavorful.

This beer pours a dark brown with ruby highlights under the light. There's a half inch tan head with lace to the finish. It's aroma is nutty with chocolate and bread crust. The flavor is milk chocolate with burnt wood and vanilla notes in the background. The vanilla becomes more prominent as it warms and the mouthfeel starts thin but finishes like vanilla cream soda. Breckenridge Vanilla Porter is a good brew, recommended!

Poured into a tulip. This one pours a cola brown with a small cap of light khaki head.

Roasted malts in the aroma with faint hints of coffee and some vanilla sweetness. Very faint all around with some misplaced bitterness in the background. Roasted malts with some roasted coffee notes and just a touch of vanilla in the finish. Not to bad here.

The body is full with medium carbonation. Overall this one isn't bad. A little forgetable and it doesn't seem to come together like I would hope but enjoyable enough.

A: Deep dark ebony brown. Just barely able to see thru. Less then a fingers worth of head dissipates down to a very very thin layer of lacey head.

S: Very mild aromas here. Hint of coffee, vanilla and maybe some toasted malt.

T: Vanilla taste is noticeable, actually smooths out the normal Porter flavor that usually bites. Bit of caramel and chocolate; almost tastes like a 3 Musketeers bar. Alcohol is noticeable at the end but it goes well with the flavors.

M: Light carbonation, smooth creamyness on the palette with a nice after taste linger.

O: Very nice Porter, everything balances well and it lacks that sharp bite that most porters have with their burnt and bold flavors.

Picked up in Michigan (can't remember which store) in April 2012

A- Almost completely opaque brown pour with a touch of red highlights. Three finger soapy short lived light tan head. Lacing is sticky sheets of goodness.

S- Roasted malt, a touch of fresh brewed coffee and a touch of vanilla. It's a little lacking in aromas, but what is there is nice.

T- A big punch of vanilla followed by a nice dark chocolate and brown sugar sweetness. Fresh brewed espresso and a touch of licorice.

M- Medium bodied, little heavier than most porters and I really like that. Carbonation is spot on.

O- I'm a sucker for vanilla in my beers and this is no exception. I would have liked a more distinguishing nose to it but everything else was exemplary.

Poured into a pint glass. There is just about no head atop a dark nearly black body.

The aroma has some sweet malt with notes of molasses.

The flavor is sweet and slightly syrupy, with maple notes. This comes off as being too sweet with a lingering aftertaste.

This is light bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel.

Eh, this isn't terrible, but I probably won't ever get it again.
