The chill of a Colorado high-country winter calls for a beer with extra flavor and strength. Here it is. At over 7% alcohol, with a sturdy texture and rich flavors of caramel and chocolate, our holiday seasonal is the fermented equivalent of a good fire.

A- Dark brown with amber hues. Head is bright white, but minimal. Brew is semi transparent.

S- Nice and malty, creamy too! Some winter spice (nutmeg and cinnamon) and a little chocolatey.

T- Roasted/burnt malts with cocoa, chocolate, and caramel. The same spices carry over too. Little bit biscuity and butter and leaves the mouth a tad bitter.

M- Thin and low on carbonation.

D- Just average.

Overall- Just an average Christmas offering. Nothing to seek out, but glad to try it. Will not look for it next year, but if I happen to come across some, I will definitely give it another shot.

Poured into grip shaped goblet: color is amber, transparent, head is light tan with fine bubbles and presents 1/4 inch thick, some spotty lacing on the glass sides.

Smell light caramel, touch toffee, hint of chocolate, earthy hops.

Taste is more caramel, light toffee, subtle chocolate, some light herbal hop qualities, hint of earth.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, lower bitterness.

Overall a very good stronger amber/brown ale in the winter warmer style.
