Chilled 12 oz. bottle into a weizen tulip. Best-by date 11.23.??.

Look- Hazy pale gold with three fingers of fluffy white foam. Glossy look, reminds me of pulled sugar. Decent retention, fair lacing.

Smell- Bready with a vaguely fruity acrid twang. Almost musky- ripe banana, desiccated lime, and salted pretzels. Don't really know what to make of it, it's a much heavier scent than I was expecting, and could use something to brighten it up.

Taste- Similar to the nose, but the agave is softer and more like sweetened aloe. Spicy with a light crusty bread backbone. Lightly fruity, something like a soft pear/mango mix. Somewhat tart. Fairly sweet, but not cloying. Finishes with mace and lemongrass. Aftertaste is pretty distinctly agave. Nice.

Mouthfeel- Smooth, medium body, smooth but present carbonation adds a bit of crispness. Interesting feel, almost doughy, floury finish. I could make a few of these disappear on a hot day, but I'd still like something a bit lighter.

Overall- Pretty good, definitely not a combination you see too often. Worth trying, but it's not going to make my short list.

12 oz bottle poured into Sam Adams Perfect Pint Glass

A: Poured a hazy golden orange with a good 2 fingers worth of head that settles to a nice layer with wonderful lacing. Beautiful looking wheat beer.

S: Very sweet smelling, I'm really getting the agave with hints of honey, orange peel, wheat and a little floral hops. Smells great.

T: First thing I'm getting is the wheat then the sweet agave nectar kicks followed by a nice burst of citrus, clove, a little floral hops and finishes a little yeasty. Overall finish is clean with little aftertaste.

M: Light bodied with good carbonation. Nice wet and refreshing.

O: Very refreshing and slightly sweet take on wheat beer. Little more sweet than most wheat beers I've had. Worth looking for... Another good brew from Breckenridge.

I've always enjoyed the sweeter wheats and this definitely fit that bill. It's for the lighter, more summery taste and it's quite refreshing. If you like Guinness, you may not like this. If you like Corona, you probably will.

I've never been particular about things like appearance and smell, but that's not to say there's anything wrong with it. Mouthfeel and taste are notable however.

Super cloudy but clean tasting wheat ale.

Agave flavor is very mild.

This seems like it would be good for someone who likes Blue Moon but wants to branch out a bit.

I basically don't care for wheat ales unless they are loaded with fruit flavors or in some other way augmented. This is not that. Unless you're a wheat beer fan or just really want a wheat ale I don't see any reason to reach for this one.
