From a diconic,

Very nice foamy, pillowy head; loads o' lacing. Typical deep amber
color for an AIPA.

Very potent nose with plenty of hops but much more malt
smell than almost any AIPA that I have had. It's a complex of
aromas hence I gave it a higher than average score there.

The foretaste is kind of citrusy(?) but rapidly followed with those buckets of malt then a bitterness at the back of the tongue.

The feel is just average, not notable.

Very worthy beer and more complex than most AIPAs. If you
are looking for fresh hops to dominate, this is not the AIPA for
you. But, if you like maltiness with a good portion of bitter, then
definitely check this out.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a smallish frothy white head that goes to a thin collar that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is sweet melon with some grassy, fruity, spicy floral hops.

The flavor is vegetal malts with some charry bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and watery. As it warms, it's not as bad, but any decent hop flavors (fruits, spicy florals) trying to peek through get washed out by the watery body.

Overall, after an interesting pour, a bit of a disappointment. It's very watery and not very appealing flavor-wise.

What an underwhelming beer. Breckenridge makes some good stuff like their oatmeal stout, but this one just doesn't hold up.

Looks impressive enough, standard orange and brown hue you would expect in an ipa. Maybe a little darker in appearance than standard.

Nothing comes across aroma wise. Taste is massively disappointing. They say on the label it is a hoppy homage to something, but there is no discernable hop profile.

It at least isn't thin and punishing throughout the bottle. Disappointing.

Picked this up at the local market. THought I'd give it a whirl.

It's a not so pretty murky copper color. With a fairly aggressive pour, it only managed to provide a modest half finger head that dissipates to spottiness pretty quickly. The lack of cap didn't stop it from delivering a surprising amount of fine lace. The really fine stuff disappeared, leaving some small spots.

The initial smell is a good mix of malt and grassy hop. Some grapefruit coming through.

The taste is sweet with a nice strong caramel malt up front. The grassy and citrus hop comes on strong in the middle but dies out before it gets to end, leaving a bit of a void - kinda seltzer-like. It's a shame because there is a nice piney kick there that showed some promise. The finish is a bitterness with no bite - a bit hollow. There's some residual hop dryness and pine in the back of the palate as aftertaste.

The body is medium. The carbonation felt medium but didn't really seem to be able to establish a reason for being.

It's a nice drink but it just didn't hit the spot for me. For an American IPA, I think it is missing a little oomph. I really don't like seltzery type flavor coming through in an IPA.

12 ounce bottle

no freshness info

pour: Hazed and dull copper. Lighter khake head, gauzy, tiny bubble and leaves nice looking cpoious scattered webs of lace.

Sniff: citrus, orange beel

Taste: Solidly hopped, citric, with more orange notes, grapefruit in the mix. Malty counterbalance present and smoothening with toasty under notes. Fully flavorful, freshtasting and quite enjoyable.

A worthy newcomer to my neighborhood's beer distribution points.

3.03/5  rDev -11.7%

Appearance: 1/3 inch head, orange-brown in color, clear, moderate carbonation

Smell: caramel malt, and citrus hops

Taste: citrus hops, caramel malt, and some meadow

Mouthfeel: medium carbonation, medium-light bodied, sweet start and middle with some bitterness at the end and in the aftertaste

Overall: This bottle was good through the end of August, so perhaps it is crisper when fresher, but I found this to be a very average IPA that is a more on the malty side. This is certainly easy to drink, but probably not one I would look for again. I wanted a bit more hops zing.

Slightly hazed aprocot copper colored with a beige-orance head that rises up an inch high and settles out quickly. Aroma of biscuity malt and subtle floral hops, some mint and butterscotch and graham cracker.

Flavor of toasty malt and ornage rind hopes, punctuated with piney notes. Finishes with more pine, and a slight metallic note. Hop bitterness lingers.

Semi-slick mouthfeel, a bit watery. Average beer overall.
