Enjoy Poolside or Sprinklerside. Breck Brew's SummerBright is the result. The craftsman's touch combines white wheat, two row pale and munich malt with the pacific northwest's most intriguing hops to create a bright, clean ale ideal for picnicking, evenings on the screen porch and enjoying the whims of the summer breeze.

July 6th, 2015 - Here at peak July, anything lighter and more digestible sounds appealing. That's what brings the Summerbright Ale to my lips. A brighter colder color, it looks appealing, and the scent intensifies the inviting appeal. Light wheat, corn bread, toast and savory cheese notes invite a sip, which offers a disappointingly bland flavor. The palate is busy with a heavy carbonation, and the lemon reveals a halfhearted lemon note, but the beer comes across more like a weak shandy with a mismatched mouthfeel than a cleansing, crisp summer beer.

Refreshing crisp taste, but hardly any flavor. Really boring and no taste.

Poured from a bottle into a glass.
Overall: a straight forward wheat ale. Good, but not awesome.
Looks murky yellow in color. Cloudy. Thin head that dissipated.
Smells of wheat funk and little else.
Tastes good, but one dimensional. Classic wheat funk with a malty finish that doesn't last long.
Feel is light to medium, carbonation is lower than expected. Feel thins out at the finish

12 oz. Bottle
Pours a nice clean/clear yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some wheat/grass. The taste is malty, kinda yeasty, wheat/grass. Medium body. Overall, a nice tasty brew.

12oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass. Pours a clear yellow (with a faint orange tint) with a one-finger white head. Substantial carbonation gives the beer a sparkling approach, with trails of bubbles rising off of imperfections in the glass. The nose is very malt-dominated - distinctly lager- and wheat-beer-like. The flavor profile (after a long day of climbing) leans more towards the crisp lemon peel. Sampled late-afternoon with more discernment for the more granular points of the palate, the malt body dominates, and leaves the orange-peel and lemon-peel behind. Solid medium malt-based body. It's certainly an inoffensive beer, and one that does well after a day of activity outdoors. A great beer-and-pizza brew, but not one that holds its own in the tasting glass.

Great pour, bright color, yellow that shades toward pale. Good clarity, fine head. Faint aroma, followed by nothing. No discernable flavor, no lingering aftertaste, nothing. A truly bland experience.
