Poured into a tulip. Big, 3 finger, frothy white head with good lacing. Clear, copper body.

Excellent aroma. Fruity, estery with a mild spiciness. Orangey and mildly peppery with a light wheaty-ness. Light malty sweetness as well.

Taste had a mild sweetness followed with a slight bitterness that had a lemony and orangey characteristic. Peppery and spicey notes backed by a mellow fruitiness. Light lingering bitterness. Light bready and malt sweetness. Good typical saison yeast flavor.

Mouthfel was good. Light body with medium carbaonation and mildly dry finish. Nice crispness.

Overall the drinkability was good especially on a warm day. Bitterness leaves it quenching and wanting more.

On tap at Breckenridge brewpub in Denver, CO on 8/12/10.

A - Golden/amber liquid with lively burst of carbonation and a bubbly bright white head of froth that retained amazingly and deposited swatches of lace around the perimeter of the glass.

S - Fruity and spicy aroma with a slightly funky barnyard character. Lots of pepper, yeast and fruity esters in there, resulting in a fairly complex nose. Spicy apple comes to mind.

T - Opens with a sweet and splcy flair suggesting crisp apple, black pepper and a funky yeast strain. Finishes with a somewhat musty yeast character and hint of herbal and earthy bitter notes.

M - Medium bodied and kind of oily with a hint of spritzy carbonation. Finishes quite spicy with an earthy hop bite on the palate.

D - Pretty good Belgian-inspired ale with a spicy flair, giving it a very earthy flavor. Some more fruit would be nice perhaps, but overall this wasn't too bad.

33 oz swing-top bottle. Pours a clear gold with a large fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass. The bottom pours are very hazy.

The aroma is sweet malts, some perfumey floral notes, spices and funky yeast.

The flavor is some sweet malts, some floral soapiness, and a little funk with a quite a bit of bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation.

Overall, an OK saison. A little on the bitter side. I didn't care for some of the flavors.

On-tap at the brewery. Served in a shaker pint glass.

A: Hazy straw with a small, but tight eggshell cap. The head recedes fairly quickly to a thin film. Leaves bits of lace.

S: Slightly musty. Coriander spice dominates. It's backed up by a light sourdough aroma.

T: Starts out with straw like malts. Bitterness comes on quick with a pepper and coriander spiciness. A lemon tartness comes on late, as well as a bit of sourdough. Finishes with lingering coriander and pepper flavors.

M: The medium body is slightly doughy and has the right level of fizz.

D: This is a nice Belgian Pale overall. It's a bit more bitter than what I usually expect from this style, but still well done.
