Poured from a 12oz bottle into a standard pint glass

A - pours a deep, fairly clear brown with dark mahogany at the edges. Just a slight ring of medium kahki colored foam.

S - even though present, i get a lot more sweetness in the nose over the chocolate and roast. No hops to speak of.

T - malty and bready with lots of sweet chocolate and sweet, lower degree crystal malts. The beer is actually fairly malty, it's just overriden by the sweetness. Some alcohol detected on a large drink, but not detected while sippin'. Just a little roast and hop bitterness on the back end, but again its overwhelmed by sweetness. I bet this would be a fantastic barrel aged beer!!

M - very thick and sweet. Unbalanced on the sweet side in my opinion.

D - fairly drinkable for one bottle, but the sweetness keeps me from wanting another so quickly. This is the biggest weakness I find in this beer - too sweet.

Overall, a pretty nice sweet stout that got a little too sweet in my opinion. A little more attenuation or more hops would have went a long way in making this a better drinker. Would go well with chocolate desserts. I'd love to see this bourbon barrel aged with some booze and vanilla addedin the profile.

This is my first brew from Breckenridge, and I'm having it from a bottle.

Appearance: Jet black cannot see through it. It had only a 1/2 finger head with an aggressive pour.

Smell: It smells fresh and like a Hershey kiss.

Taste: I'm getting some coffee notes with a strong chocolate taste overall, only slightly bitter.

Mouth feel: It has a nice feel thick and satisfying.

Overall: It is a good beer and a great start for me from Breckenridge. I do believe this is my first milk stout also so cheers.
