Bottle > Pint Glass

A - Black with just a small layer of tan head, no lacing.
S - Roasted chocolates, toffee, vanilla, and...licorice, tons of it...
T - Sickly sweet malt, anise, black licorice, vanilla, burnt toffee, a little roasty, chocolate milk.
M - Cloyingly sweet, some alcohol burn.
O - My opinion is semi-biased, I loath licorice with a burning passion, any trace of it, which it is potent in this one, ruins my palate. Aside from that its too sweet, a little boozey, and lacking on balance.

Served in a snifter.

Appearance: Pours a thin dark brown color that in the end looks back with somewhat thin tan head that rose to maybe just a notch under a finger's length.

Smell: Like the description, it smells like a smooth hot cocoa with a blend of caramel.

Taste: Smooth but easily complex with a hit of chocolate and roasted sugars. This is definitely one you save to pair with your dessert.

Mouth: Lightly sticky and smooth. You feel he sweet finish at the end but leaves your quickly.

Overall: Very good beer that exceeded my expectations...Didn't think it was going to be as "sweet" but you adapt very quickly to it. I would pick it up again but to have more than one in a row is a real question to ask yourself. Salud!

Pours a near-black with minimal chocolate covered head that disappears quickly, leaving no lacing. A surprisingly muted aroma of roasted chocolate malts with coffee tones. The flavour is more robust, with a nice blend of chocolate milky creaminess and coffee grounds' bitterness in the finish. Roasted dark and chocolate malt tones in the body transition nicely from caramel sweetness to hop bitterness. There's enough dark and milk chocolate flavours to suit the name without being cloying. Mouthfeel is oily, as befitting the 7.2% ABV, but increased carbonation would help my personal enjoyment of this bottle.

Poured 72 Imperial Chocolate Cream Stout into a pint glass.

A - Pours black as midnight with a half of finger of mocha head.

S - Chocolate with roasted malts.

T - Not too bad, smooth chocolate with some vanilla. Roasted malts mid palate. Light toffee and more chocolate on the finish.

M - Smooth and creamy, medium to full mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

O - This is a good beer. Cheers!

A: The beer is close to being black in color; when held up to the light the edges of the glass have dark red hues. It poured with a quarter finger high dense tan head that died down, leaving wispy patches of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of lactose are present in the nose.
T: The taste has lots of lactose flavors but also has notes of roasted malts and hints of chocolate. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little creamy and thick on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is a decent representation of the style. It has a good amount of lactose and some added flavors of roasted malts to lend complexity.

Pouring to a very dark brown- almost black- color, this cream stout emits an aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, vanilla, and some nuts. The foam looks nice at first, but it does settle down rather quickly and leaves only spotty lacing.

This beer has a flavor that is similar to its aroma, but with a few key differences. The tastes of dark chocolate and creamy milk chocolate are obvious and there is also some roasted malt, caramel, a touch of coffee, and some earthy notes. The body of this stout is medium and it leans toward the sweet side.

This is a creamy, tasty stout that would taste great all by itself or with a chocolate and/or nutty dessert. The sweetness isn’t overbearing and the flavor offers some good contributions from several complex tastes. It’s a little more alcoholic than its taste would lead you to believe, so you do need to take this one seriously. It’s a solid, tasty stout all- around and one that should satisfy the stout lovers and others among us.
