They are a good place to get you started, but once you grow in your brewing experience you will get disappointed very quickly, I did. Once your ready, or if your thinking of getting ready to expand your brewing knowledge head over to Chicago Brew Werks. Its only a few miles away. Brandon and the guys there will treat you right.

Jake and the fellas know their stuff! They are very friendly and the store carries everything you need for home brewing. All Ingredients are easy to find. They have a mill that can be used which helps out a lot. Keep up the good work guys and I'll see ya this weekend!

I've been to this place three or four times now. Even being from the area, it's not easy to find and not well marked. Every time I've been there, the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer my questions, despite the fact that they were fairly busy each time. They offer samples of their own home brews, which are usually quite good. At this stage in my experience, it would be nice to be able to sample beers made with some of the kits they sell as well. Since I've started home brewing, I've checked out many websites that carry the same products. I've found Brew and Grow's prices to be very competitive.

Pretty good place overall. Staff were extremely friendly and more than willing to help find what I needed. Most of the staff were extremely knowledgeable about beer and brewing (I'm guessing the others are more knowledgeable about the gardening equipment). They even had a few samples of the employees' home brewed beer, which were pretty decent. It is pretty hard to find the first time, but other than that a pretty positive experience. Prices were reasonable, but not amazing. Will definitely go back a second time.

I visited this shop for the first time a couple weeks ago and have been back for two more visits since.
The store is located in a fairly industrial area (part of a mega-warehouse complex) so it can be a bit of a challenge to find the first time. Parking was plentiful and close.
Upon entering, you get a sense of how big this place is. Of course lots of space is dedicated to the hydroponic/growing equipment, but there is enough "brewshop" in this place to get the attention of any brewer.
The stock of brewing equipment consisted of everything from basic starter equipment to more specialized gadgets to kegs and kegging equipment. I was especially pleased with the selection of hops, yeast, and base/specialty grains. The prices were not the cheapest in the world, but they were well in the ballpark of tolerable.
Service was friendly and the guys working on my visits showed a good amount of brewing knowledge. They even let me know that soon they will have samples of their own homebrewed beers on tap in the store for all to try.
All in all a good store that makes a great addition to an area devoid of convenient/quality homebrew shops.
