The wife and I stopped here on our trip to KC. It is tucked away in south KC, but not far of a trip by car from downtown. The place is basically a large room with the fermenters and brewhouse behind glass in the center. It seems family friendly, but somewhat dimly lit. There are lots of cool nostalgic beer signs covering the walls.

The beers are clean and well done for the most part. There were 5 beers available. Out of the sampler 3 were okay and 2 were quite good (barrel-aged stout & dubbel).

The service was attentive and had a decent knowledge of the beers that were brewed there.

We had an appetizer, since we had a big lunch, but the menu did look appealing and the appetizer was good.

I'd recommend the place as a decent local brewpub. The service was friendly and the beer was decent. There's a couple other must stops in KC, but this one can't be ignored. (873 characters)

Tried out a handful of tasters with some friends that love a beer they had at a beerfest and was not impressed at all. I didn't try any food, but this place should have better beer if they have been around since 1993. (220 characters)

Visited back in April 2013 (from notes):

I visited the establishment on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, and it happened to be raining, so the place had pretty sparse crowd, maybe a dozen people in a place that could easy seat 60+ people. I sat at the bar, which had space for 15-20 people. The one thing that caught my eye was the kettles right in the middle of the joint. It was kind of cool, but I think that it broke up the space too much. So, the place was not really that happening that night, but I had the ESB and a Stout (it was on cask, but it had too much carbonation somehow...even the bartender said that he did not know what was wrong with it, but it just didn't taste or feel right. They may have had a dozen or so beers on tap, with a nice variety of styles. I also order some food, which was ok for pub grub...nothing special, but not bad. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about beer and since I was only one a few patron, we had a nice discussion about beer. Overall, a decent place, but if I go back, I will head here for beers before heading somewhere else for dinner. (1,098 characters)
