Maybe I got a weird one, but I can't believe no one mentioned the thick honey pour!!! This was so thick I was scared to drink it. I was afraid it was going to taste like mead. It is a really thick hazy yellow, but it doesn't taste sweet. It kind of tastes like a pale ale, malty, but with a great hops taste and aroma. It is really balanced well, nice and hoppy but with a hint of citrusy, honey sweetness. This is a great beer! I have been planning on trying it for a while, but was scared to try a six pack. Not anymore. Great job Bee Creek!

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #57 (October 2011):

Aiming for a pretty much no-frills beer style, bee creek has nailed it, without swaying toward over-hopping or deviating from what the malt character needs to be. even keeled and quaffable. Versatile, from being a possible stepping-stone beer (aka “gateway beer”) to being that easy-drinking session craft brew.

LOOK: Pale golden yellow

SMELL: Pale malt, sweetness, white chocolate, floral, bready

TASTE: Crisp, clean, grainy, fresh white bread, honey malt, herbal hop, dried grass

Got as an extra from SuperNova777. Thanks bud.

Poured a cloudy golden color with lots of slightly off-white head.

Smell is not good at all. Not sure why though. Can't put my finger on it. As it warms a little bit, the smell has improved. Now smells very malty and not nearly as bad.

Taste is very malty. Some spice to it. Almost tastes salty.

Mouthfeel is pretty good and smooth. Went down pretty easy.

Overall a pretty good beer aside from the smell upfront and like I said that improved. I would probably drink this again but won't seek it out.

Though there's a distinct lack of info on the packaging/bottles, this one's tasty and semi-local.

Pours a rich gold with average white head. Minor lace.

Aroma is sweet, with hints of honey and biscuit.

Taste is interesting, and quite malty. Almost like a more complex amber ale, this one has a strong grain flavor, with a hint of hop sharpness at the finish.

A tasty and unique brew, full-bodied and full of flavor.

Poured from 12oz bottle.

A- Pours a golden yellow color very lovely color. One and a half finger white head shows medium retention. Light streaks of lace left on the glass with some falling back into the beer.

S- Light citrus hops in the overall aroma of the beer. Some light straw and grainy tones in the nose. Honey like sweetness to this beer overall. The aroma is heavier than what most would think when they hear of a blonde ale.

T- Malty upfront with a touch of yeast. Middle of the beer has some light grainy flavor to it. Honey like sweetness overtakes a little of the malty. Nice light hop bite in the backend really balanced this beer out from being over the top blonde ale. Some ending yeast notes wrap up this beer.

M- Light mouthfeel. Carbonation was good for the style. Yeasty notes with some light sweet malts left on the palate. Aftertaste is mostly honey like sweetness, light alcohol, and yeasty notes. Flavors were balanced in this beer very well. No off flavors were present. Light alcohol drying on the palate overall.

D- This was a nice surprise. A nice drinking beer for mostly any occasion. The ABV is low meaning more than one pint is no problem. A good beer to let people try if they are not into craft beers. This one could change them for sure!

Poured from 12oz bottle.

A- This pours a golden yellow color with a single finger head, with a fair amount of retention time and good lacing.

S- There is a citrus smell that permeates a smokey orange scent. It is extremely unique and fairly nice. a very slight hop smell is evident and a slight bready malt to it is nice.

T- This beer has a wonderful malty character at the very first taste and a light citrus with a hoppy finish that completes the flavor of this beer. The lingering after taste is that of yeast but not in a bad way or very strong, it is faint and pleasant.

M- While the beer is fairly light and goes down very easily it has a high carbonation level when compared with many other beers of which I have tried. It does complement the beer though and thus justifiable. I did not feel any heat from alcohol.

O- I really enjoyed this beer and it being brewed close to my current location makes its appeal even greater to me. I think that this beer must be somewhere in between 4.5 and 6% ABV.

Pours a very nice golden color, clear and slightly sparkling with a huge amount of head, but very little lacing. Decent aroma; some nice crispness from the malt, but a rather cloying jerky hop scent that doesn't merge with a lighter beer (I think a citrus hop, such as Cascade would've been better.. but that's personal opinion). Nice flavor with a very nice sweet body, and a decent light hop (little floral, too much jerky again) attribute at the end that stays on the tongue. A very clean and crisp beer that would be wonderful on a hot day, and pretty darn good on a cold one, too.

Pours hazy golden. Nice white head with minimal lacing.

Aroma of citrus and malt. Very clean.

Taste is a nice balance of malt and hops. Citrus comes thru with a touch of lemon at the finish.

Mouthfeel is fuller than expected and good.

Overall, this is a very good beer. Unique among American Blonde Ales in flavor and an exceptional quencher.
