This is supposedly an "Irish Red Ale" but, in keeping with what I have seen to be a very loose application of this term by many brewers, it is not really, most notably because it is 7.3% abv. It's just a decent, very malty, strong red ale.

Anyway, it is deep red, with a smallish-medium, creamy off-white head slowly shrinking to a foamy ring and leaving a few wisps of lace.

Aroma is malty-nutty toasty barley, hint of woody-grassy hop.

Taste is lightly sweet plums & nuts, lightly toasty, with a very faint woody-peppery bitterness. It is enjoyable, solid, and holds up well with food, but simple and fairly one-dimensional. (630 characters)
