Hazy golden with a one and a half finger white head, fair retention. Belgian yeast with some lemon and pear atop a wheaty background. Flavor is just a little sweet--blindy, it reminds me of their wit with the spice and wheat notes, but it’s lacking the perfumery florals (not as strong here, anyway). Back on track there is light toasty malts and some grassy hay notes, however light. Bitterness peaked at a 2, slightly herbal in the semi-dry finish. Light to moderate carbonation with a light to medium body. Much more than I expected by the name.

On tap at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.

Pours a clear orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, slight fruit, and some grassy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with an herbal flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that smells better than it tastes in my opinion.

On-tap at Ladyface

A: The beer pours a clear, pale yellow color with a small, finger tall, white head.

S: Smells sort of bland. A bit of yeast and sweet pale malts, but that's about it. A little bit of spice and fruit esters to it, but not all that great. Just a hint of floral hop character, perhaps a touch of banana.

T: The flavor is enjoyable in its simplicity. While most of the characteristics are the same as the nose, they are more pronounced. A touch of white pepper, banana, apple, and sweet, pale malts. Light spice notes, a bit of yeast, and a mild bitterness on the finish.

M: Light bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation.

O: Not the greatest smelling beer, but nice and light, actually a decently well done blonde.

Thanks to bman1113vr for sharing this beer.

12 ounce handbottle. The beer pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is citrus and wheat. The flavor is strong wheat with some corn and citrus. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not a lot going on with this beer.

On tap. From what the server told me, it sounds like the brewer ratcheted down from his first effort, making this more mass-marketable but losing the "Belgian" flavors that would make it more interesting. It pours golden yellow with a little haze and a lasting head. Minor hints of Belgian yeast in the aroma, a little ester and maybe some candi sugar. The taste is a bit more flacid than the smell, bready and malty up front and a little peppery in back. Very easy drinking, maybe that's what the brewer was after, not something I'd go after again though.
