Appearance: Arrives with a lovely tan head covering the coffee brown liquid; curtains of lace are left behind
Smell: Rich caramel malt with butter-pecan tones; oaked red wine times commingle, as well
Taste: The malty tones in the aroma translate into the palate bringing rich caramel and butter-pecan; in the middle, the oak and red wine barrel add tremendous complexity, with the Belgian yeast strain bringing a bit of spice cake to the mix; a bit if chocolate and mocha linger in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Another revelatory beer from Ladyface; color me really impressed by the wine barrel aged beers I have had from this brewery

On tap at Ladyface Ale Companie in Agoura Hills, CA.
Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, slightly sour dark fruit, red wine, and woody aromas. Taste is much the same with dark fruit and red wine flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a really nice red wine barrel aged presence that is especially apparent in the flavor.
