trendy little bar and food spot. bar along the one side, and tables along the other. 8 beers on tap - quality craft beers. the service at lunch was okay, and the fried chicken sandwich I had was very tasty.

Quite pleased by my visit. Rock solid food joins a short but well built draft list and collection of bottles and cans. Trillium is the top draw, but don’t miss the rest. The “small” mussel dish was rather huge. Everything on point.

Small spot tucked away in the South End around the corner from the Back Bay T stop. I love the vibe - brick, cozy tables, long and deep floor space, lengthy bar; it's a good scene. Sister restaurant to another spot I enjoy in JP - Canary Square. Whereas the latter has an extensive tap list Coda has a smaller rotating list that runs the gamut from local beers like Trillium, Night Shift and Notch to more familiar options like Dogfish and Stone. Service is always good and attentive and food is consistently enjoyable. Great spot.

This is a small, mid-block eatery in the South End of Boston on Columbus Street, near Dartmouth. Technically, it's in Back Bay, but to the natives, it feels like South End.

Deep and narrow, it looks quite dark from the street on a sunny day. There are eight beers on tap and a couple dozen in bottle. All of them are craft, and even then, none of them are common.

I came on a Sunday while they were serving brunch. Although I didn't partake, I thought the prices were reasonable. The beer prices were typical of Boston.

I would not call this a beer bar/restaurant. Although if I were here for food I'd be pleased with the beer offerings.

This is a smaller restaurant that has some dining tables in the front and a decent sized bar in the back of the place. The shape of the interior space is long and narrow. There is a bit of a modern vibe here too despite the long interior brick wall. Two TVs for entertainment.

There are only about 8 drafts here but a decent variety. Smutty IPA, Founders All Day, Notch Session Pils, Troegs Dreamweaver, Left Hand Porter, and something by DFH and Sixpoint. Not sure about the bottle selection, and most people here were drinking mixed drinks.

Service was good, but the bartender had some friends at the bar so he was a bit distracted with conversation at times. I only had two pints and I did not have any of the food.

Not a beer destination in my eyes, but you do have some options here if you are stopping in for a bite to eat or just a quick pint or two like I did.

This place is defintely a South End gem. You might pass it at first because it is a small operation. They have draft lines that change with the season and a small, but good bottled beer selection. The food is awesome too and you can get steak frites for $20! I really like the cozy atmosphere. It's a nice little refuge for those looking to escape the hustle ad bustle of the city. This place also has a great waitstaff that is both friendly and knowledgeable. The finishing touch is that they give you a little book to write comments in at the end of your meal. Looking through the book to see what other have written can be quite entertaining if you have some extra time!

I've only been to Coda a couple times but I think its great. They have a nice bottled beer selection and its a small place so despite its location the staff is friendly. Its right around the corner from back bay train station and coply station so getting home isn't hard. The food selection isnt the best I found it to be not worth the money. Overall Coda is a nice spot to take a date for drinks and still get a good brew, but don't plan on buying dinner cause your date will walk away less than impressed

My wife and I had dinner reservations in the Pru area on Saturday night, and we had some time to kill beforehand. We popped into Coda to check it out. Been on the South End scene for a while now, and never had a chance to have a drink here. Owned by the same group that runs Common Ground in Allston and Canary Square in JP. It's a long thin restaurant. Seats to the left, and a bar to the right in the back. Two tvs to watch sports. Low ceilings, and a cozy atmosphere. Place looks well kept. Crowded at first, so we stood for a round, then sat at the bar for the second. Service from both bartenders was courteous. Selection was pretty great for the South End. They had eight beers on tap: BBC Imp Stout nitro, Franziskaner, Pretty Things Jack, Avery Pils, Port Brewing Wipeout IPA, DFH, Allagash, and Stone AB. They had about 15 bottles and 3-5 bombers on the bottles list. I had a Port Brewing Wipeout IPA draft and then a bottle of Abita Mardi Gras Bock. My wife had drafts of Fraziskaner and Jack D'or. Prices were high for beers, with most over $6. Didn't eat, but food all around us looked and smelled good. Now that I know that the beer selection is that good here, I'd definitely like to come back for a full meal next time we are in the South End.

Stopped in on the way to Night of the Funk for a quick bite. I was pleasantly surprised by the tap list. I have to say that you don't need a lot of taps as long as they are well chosen. Spaten Oktoberfest, Franziskaner Hefe, DFH Punkin, Greenflash IPA, Chimay Tripel, Hoegaarden White, Cisco's Whale's Tail, Berkshire Coffeehouse Porter (nitro) and Stella. Taps were appropriately priced - about $5.50 to $6.00 for standard pint, although Chimay was $9.00. Bottle list was fairly impressive, but prices were all over the map - Old Rasputin, Pumpking, Hugh Malone, Hennepin & Steel Rail Extra Pale Ale to name a few. Service was excellent. waitstaff made sure we were well attended to. Lunch menu was fantastic - average price was about $9.00 for an entree and the fare was pretty hearty. I had a great bacon, cheddar and apple grilled cheese and frites and was quite satisfied. Just a really cool little place.
