A beautiful copper brew ripe with citrus aroma from legendary American Cascade hops. The nice, initial hop bite fades to reveal the perfect subtleties of a well-rounded India Pale Ale. Notice hints of orchard fruit crispness that will leave the palate begging for more.

pours a medium brown witha nice off white head and lacing.
smells of citrus, oranges and grapefruit with hints of pine as well. Caramel sweetness also pushing through hitting the nostrils.
Taste is very nice. Cant believe its brewed so local.
Fresh, well balanced. Malty sweetness battling the citris hops and slightly falling behind.
Very nice beer!

On tap @ Irish Pub, Lewisburg

A- pours a slightly hazy copper color with a small creamy white head that retains nicely, leaving some thick lacing behind

S- tropical and citrus fruit hop blend mixes with some doughy malt aroma, with a hint of pine at the end

T- mango and guava flavors up front mix with a slight citrus bitterness, balanced out by a big bready malt backbone, slightly sweet finish

M- medium body with medium prickly carbonation leads to a super creamy mouthfeel and ends in a smooth silky finish

O- nice tropical and citrus notes, although a little raw around the edges. Would prefer a little less bready malt presence so that the hops can shine, but still has high drinkability

My local brewery/brew pup. Appearance has some hope haze but not too bad.

Smell is...off. almost a sour-ish that I can't put my finger on.

Taste is okay, not very strong hop profile, which I love in a good ipa.

Great mouthfeel for me. Clean but without the resin I love (damn you head hunter!!!)

Overall, as much as I love to support local beers and breweries, this brewery has never done it for me. I have tried almost all of their beers and yet to order more than one when I have. I want to like and support this brewery, yet every time I drink a beer I feel let dow . Sorry MBC, but there are better beers for my money. But I will keep trying, hopefully one day something clicks.
Truthfully, I think I had a bad keg. This beer just wasnt good.

appearance: pours a clear, lighter slightly-yellow amber with light carbonation; white foam dissipates leaving moderate lacing.

smell: aroma of the hops is lighter yet pleasingly floral.

taste: the hops are present from the start, very tangy throughout the middle, tapering off with a tangy-bitter finish, very pronounced.

drinkability: all of the elements are there for the IPA, and none are over the top, very drinkable.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery in a pub glass on our way to Louisville for the Derby back in 2009. The beer pours a medium to deep amber color, with a fairly small white head. The nose shows a fairly prevalent note of west coast hops: pine, citrus, and a touch of grassy character. The palate begins on a fairly bitter note, showing the advertised 70+ IBUs. Similar hop flavor notes as mentioned in the aroma hit the palate. The overall level of bitterness is mitigated somewhat by the high level of residual English crystal malt sweetness that remains in the middle to back end of the palate. The finish is almost a balance between bitterness and residual sweetness. Overall, one of the better MBC beers, but still essentially average, for the style.

EDIT: Raised all my scores based on second and third tastings. No time to re-write the review now, but this beer has been seriously stepped up lately.

No head on this beer, but it was filled to the rim of the pint glass! Very dark for the style, coming in on the deep side of amber. Nice clarity, which is the best thing the appearance has going for it.

Aroma has a touch of sweet malt actually in front of the hops, also some mineral aspects to it. The hops are citrusy in nature but not the bright fresh squeezed orange type of citrus. It's more of a spicy aroma and still very subdued. Taste is very similar, with a mild touch of citrus in the front, some of that mineral profile, and more hops turning bitter on the back end.

There is a bit of body to this beer, but it does come off thinner than I would hope. Still, a decent local beer to drink and I'll be back for more.

Zach Morgan's Pale Ale

Pours a cloudy gold . Good smelling beer full of lemon citrus, pine and herb . Cascade hops all day which are present right away in the aroma. In the taste, lemon zest and grass. Creamy malt. Bready and bitter, quite floral. Body is medium, medium carbonation. A refreshing summer option, I could easily have a few of these, no problem.

Ditto what James says, more or less, but sans the 3Floyds reference. Sorry, but it's Alpha KING for a reason.

No head but that's the sanitizing solution's fault. Gotta love Mon County health codes. Cloudy orange. It's ok.

Lot'sa hops: some pine, some citrus, but mostly floral. Rose-y. Solid malt background supporting the same.

Easy drinkin' but only had one so, there's that.

Good start for the new brewpub. I want to see something "Imperial" out of them but until then this'll do.

Pours a nice deep copper with a bit of nice lacing, but no head. Huge citrus aroma with slight pine tones. Taste is almost all grapefruit and pine; nice deep maltiness to help balance it, though; long lingering hoppy (American) finish. Just a bit of roughness from the hops, but a nice finish. Reminds me a bit of 3F's Alpha King, but more citrusy. Great brew.
