The appearance was a nice dark hazy brown color with a normal bar pour thin little white head that once it died, there was barely any lacing. The smell had the peaty/smokey aromas playing nicely with a nice roasty sort of quality. The taste was there as it had the normal qualities of a Scotch ale such as a nice peaty/smokiness surrounded by the roasty qualities of a malty sweetness running all about. Skillfully, the aftertaste was fairly artful as it seemed to locate everything I just mentioned and wrap it all up nicely and lead into the finish. On the palate, it sat about a medium on the body and had a mediocre sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the Scotch Ale style and for me as it was actually fairly smooth. Overall, not a bad Scotch Ale, I think I could see myself having this again

Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a clear, very dark copper color. There was a small off white head that didn’t linger or leave any lacing. It has a nice nose. Caramel malts, some peat and smokiness. The taste is also good. A good malt body, but no real sweeetness. A somewhat dry finish. Some peat and smokey notes. A good solid beer!
