12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 8/19/2013. Pours lightly hazy ruby copper color with a 1-2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, toast, biscuit, toffee, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, light roast, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt and hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, toffee, floral, grass, lemon/orange zest, light pine, light roast, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, toffee, citrus, floral, grass, light pine, and light roast on the finish for a bit. Nice balance of malt and hop flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice amber ale! All around good balance and robustness of malt and hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours a rich, dark copper with 2-inch tan head that was initially persistent, but then disappeared completely leaving some Belgian lace. It provided an initial nose of toasted bread and biscuits. Some floral hops? Not so sure. Medium body with slightly unpleasant metallic taste mixed with caramel and butter. Short on the palate. Not a favorite.

12 oz stubby brown bottle

North Peak Siren Amber Ale filled my pint glass with a clear amber hue that formed a less than 1-finger off-white head with not much retention. The nose first picked-up the caramel malts with just a whiff of hops. The taste matches the nose , however the floral hop bitterness is more pronounced. There is also some nutty flavor noticed midway with light lingering hop bitterness at the finish. The body is a little on the thin side.

Overall, Siren is an average/ok amber ale.

Appearance- pours with a good finger and a half beige head, cratering as it subsides, brown-orange with plenty of carbonation

Smell- nice pale malt sweetness with noticeable hop traces to give a little brightness

Taste- A little unexpected tartness on the beginning and finish, the middle has a breadiness to it with a little yeast as well, there's something about that start that makes it feel like it's missed something

Mouthfeel- light/medium body, watery feel as it goes down, doesn't linger in the back

Overall- Perhaps I had a bottle past it's prime, didn't seem to offer much awe factor
