Poured golden with a fine grainy nose. Tasted like a standard wheat beer, medium bodied and very drinkable. Nothing bad about this beer, but nothing obscenely great either. A very standard and drinkable wheat. I liked it but not enough to buy it on any regularity.

On tap at the Jolly Pumpkin brewpub in A2. Pours a clear orange color with a very small creamy white head. Wet dog smell, some orange rind, wheat malts. Tastes a bit like wet dog, with some dank citrus, and skunk. Hoping I got a bad batch. This just isn't good.

I have become a pretty big North Peak fan. There was one I didn't like as much, but I can't remember which. These have been really nice.
This one is nice in the glass. It has a unique malty sweetness I am not used to in the style. But it also has yeast and hops flavors very prominently. It is a unique, not too heavy brew.
This is one to buy for a nice change of pace - it is unique.

Poured into a weizen glass.
2.0 A: Hazed dark orange color. Just half a finger of frothy white head. Poor retention and no lacing.
3.0 S: Smells like all their beers. Lots of yeast. Below that there is bubblegum and banana with clove underneath that.
3.0 T: Wheaty, yeasty, with banana, bubblegum, and clove.
2.5 M: Medium body. Way undercarbonated for the style. Reasonably creamy.
3.0 D: Pretty average all around. My first NP brew was quite tasty, but all others have disappointed.

Appearance - Pours a hazy golden-amber color with a very thin head that dissipates instantly. Has spotted lacing.
Smell - Not very appealing.. Smells very bitter with citrus, lemon zest, and yeast. At first it reminded me of vomit but after a few intakes it changes.
Taste - Citrus, wheat, and clove. Kind of a watery beer. Has a bitter aftertaste with a small alcohol bite.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light carbonation.
Overall - I was a little grossed out by the smell but it tastes better than it smells.. lol. It's still not that good of a beer in my opinion.

A: Slightly hazy darker colored amber. Forms a thin, patchy but still rocky-bubbly surface coating of white head.
S: Strong wheat aroma. Lemon, yeast, and a mild funkiness.
T: Bready and yeasty. A little clove spice. Lemon and lots of wheat flavor.
M: On the lighter side of medium with heavier carbonation. Slight tartness on the tongue.
O: Fairly good and quite drinkable, but nothing too exciting and couldn't see coming back to this one again.

A slight hint of fresh strawberries and oranges seems to emanate from the head, which is an off-white color and pretty short. Quickly dissipating, the head leaves a thin film with a ring at the edge and a modicum of lacing. A clear golden color, the brew is well carbonated and feels good on the tongue. After sloshing about the last dregs in the bottle, the yeasty sediment is added to the glass stein to add some haziness and a bit more citrus to the flavor.
Frisky hops hit the palate first, followed by cereal grain malts and a hint of cloves. Almost a pale ale in style, but with the lightness of wheat, this ale is nicely done.

First impression is corn flakes. Cereal taste and sweet to boot. Strong hint of dried mango and grapes. Nose is almost winey with flowers. Taste is quite perfumey. Finally some hop bitterness comes into the aftertaste. Quite attractive golden color, nice enough head. Malty sweetness is abundant, but it veers off with a hint of sourness.
After a few sips it is fairly drinkable, it's just such an odd duck. I suppose we like beers that fit into categories so our left brains can go to work. It's hard to get past the raw grain with perfume, and the sweet and sour character.

Poured from a bottle into a Terrapin Barrel glass.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orangish amber with a finger and a half of off white head. Decent retention.
Smell: Very strong bready malt with some spice from the yeast. Some slightly sour citrus notes.
Taste: The first thing I noticed was a fruity sour note. This beer isn't as crisp as I would like. Sort of reminds me of apple juice in a way. The finish is a little bit bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with smooth, tingly carbonation and a slick finish.
Overall: Not very good. Some weird flavors going on here. Wouldn't pick this one up again.

On tap at Jolly Pumpkin at Ann Arbor. I think NP beers taste better on tap norally. Sour aroma, not too drinkable. But some apple cider sourish taste makes it in fact interesting to try once. Not a good representative of the style.Above average mouthfeel.

Stubby bottle poured into a standard pint.
Standard pour left a 2-1/2 finger creamy white head. Golden orange body with slight haze.
Nice citrus aroma with balance of wheat. There is a very subtle spice, but the citrus is the dominant aspect.
Medium citrus flavor with a hint of spice and balanced mild hop. Medium carbonation
The mouth feel is nice, a touch grainy, there is nice medium carbonation.
It is a nice balanced beer. It is easy to drink, but not too light. Overall, pretty good. I've been trying many of the North Peak beers and I've become a fan. Nice addition. I'm a big Founders Fan too. This isn't my preferred style. But, still a decent b

So, been working on this beer for a while. Probably my least favorite from NP. Not sure really what style it is. Wit or American Wheat beer. Confusing. That said, this beer used to be just terrible but they were new so I thought they needed more time. IPAs can hide a lot of flaws but this beer couldn't hide a thing...so Big improvement. As others have noted , something has changed in the this brewery since December. Don't know what but very happy. If they could keep working on this and make it into Spotted Cow thennn - home run. Still a nice light wheat/wit beer. Just needs some more work still.

A - pours with about a quarter inch of loose, fizzy white foam which falls to a thin film and ring within a few minutes. the beer is slightly hazy, gold in color.
S - light, grainy malt sweetened by a bit of wheat with some subtle lemon peel.
T - light bread and grains, turning lightly sweeter with wheat and citrusy lemon zest. mildly soapy.
M - lightly bodied with moderate to sharp, spritzy carbonation.
D - well, nothing special but also not that bad. if anything, just a bit bland, yet "safe".
