A: Slightly cloudy copper pour with very little head; dusting of beige retention, that’s all. Some delicate strands of lace stick to the glass for a moment before sliding back in.
S: Light, fruity hops pair nicely with a clean wheat aroma: soft grain and apricot blend with scents of more sugary fruits notes of white grape, red apple, and cooked peach. A nose that screams summer.
T&M: A wonderful combination of fruit and wheat: satisfying, like jam on toast. Grain-forward at first, the palate hits with a mouthful of chewy bread and wheat cereal tastes, smoothing over the tongue with a near-perfect doughy texture. Hops are slow to start, but they get going mid-palate with a fruity, prickly bitterness – candied lemon, tart, fresh peach, soft, jammy grape, and some crisp pepper. It’s a dryness that’s noticeable yet mild, and in doing so, it gives the edge to hop taste over bitterness. Finishes all wheat, a sustained grain character that leaves this one feeling full. Carbonation is frothy and smooth, as well, helping this to a wonderful presence of not-too-light, not-too-heavy.
O: Someone described this to me as a “Gumballhead killer.” My response to that? Well, they’re two very different beer. As far as balance and actual wheat flavor goes, Vicious takes it without a doubt. But there’s definitely something special about Gumballhead’s hop character – it’s everything you want when you think of drinkable hop flavor. All I know is that I love them both, though this one is much cheaper; at $10 a six-pack, I’ll likely be stocking my fridge with Vicious for a long, long time. Cheers!

Good brew, vicious is the right way to describe this one! This one is copper and bitter, another perfect example of Michigan awesomeness. I will not budge on my love for North Peak and this one is just amazing too!

Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Head retention is moderate, with little to no lacing left behind. Aroma is dominated by sweet, bread malts, with a dash of pine hop notes. Flavor profile is more malts, but with a pine and earthy bitter hop side. The malts are earthy, and bread-like. Interesting contradiction between the two. Overall, it's on the bitter side. It leaves a bitter, pine taste in the back of the throat. Mouth feel is smooth, with a medium consistency. Overall, it's not the most impressive brew. It seems to be more bitter for the sake of being bitter.
Served in a 12oz snifter.

Long lasting white head with a full IPA flavor. The body seems to lighten during the finish. Nice IPA.
