Look
Poured in tankard. Inch over an inch of head. Light copper color. A bit murky, must be unfiltered which is a plus
Smell
Very faint smell, you can definitely pick up pumpkin and some citrus...maybe pineapple
Taste
Not very strong on the pumkin which is surprising since most are overwhelming. Slight hop kick almost as if I mixed a blue moon pumpkin with a light IPA.
Overall
It's actually not bad. Halfway through the first glass I found myself liming it more and more. I actually went back and changed my numbers on it.

Pours a slight orange tinged light golden with a tight thinner but well sustained white head atop.Somewhat different aromas for the style, some caramel/biscuit,light roasted pumpkin, and earthy hops. The feel is sharp and a little thin and takes away from a pretty good flavor profile.Graham cracker and mild pie spice with a toasted element as well,a decent shot of earthy hops in the finish.Kind of a different take on the style, but I wouldn't say top notch.

I thought this was a nice combination of a pumpkin beer and a pale ale. At first it wouldn't seem that pumpkin would pair with hops well but the do here. I quite enjoyed it and could drink several in one night.

North Peak Hooligan.
Likely the last entry I shall put in with regards to Fall esque beer seeing as most of them have a Novelty due to halloween and I'm not quite sure when I'll be making another beer run due to a monster work schedule places on front of me starting in a few days. North Peak...well...they've had some solid brews and some brews that completely missed the mark. At $2 flat for the bottle I figured it wasn't too big of a risk. What the hell, let's dive in shall we.
Look - From the twelve ounce bottle into a pint glass. Pours a perfected fusion between amber and copper with a bit of the sunset illusion as you look at it in the light. The head is about two fingers in height and dies down to a frothy cap amongst the top of the swill that is on the lower side of thickness as far as a cap goes. The carbonation appears medium to high, depending on a few factors. The head has already begun leaving a sticky lace so let us hope it carries over once the beer is finished. Thr head continues to remain even teb minutes although it has gone into a thick cloud formation. Lacing in decent and sticky though not very much remains.
Smell - I've seen reviews before state how sometimes pumpkin beers can take on a candle like scent? Well i have not encountered that...until this one. The nutmeg is definitely all there with just a touch of cinnamon far off into the back ground. The pumpkin is like...half way between smelling a pumpkin pie and half way between having a pumpkin scented candle hit you in the nose. Maybe the same thing happening on the food counter on thanksgiving. Does not smell bad, fuller than most pumpkin beers actually and does not lack whatsoever.
Taste - The taste follows the aforementioned scent however it does change up..a bit. Well would you believe it that a pumpkin ale tastes like pumpkins?. I mean that may come as a shock to some, I know. But, without causing too much pain I'd like to state that it thankfully drops the candle aspects and adopts a more.. well...you ever by chance have a slightly burnt pumpkin pie? Because it tastes like a slightly burnt pumpkin pie. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I prefer my foods black and charred. Nutmeg is bountiful to carry the secondary but overall it is all charred pumpkin pie.
Feel - The feel is medium and once again that candle essence comes back. Look, I'm up North in Atlanta, Michigan searching for a fee bucks, had Joe Blow bought these for a night after completing a successful hunt he would view is as fantastic and probably dump it into his gullet quickly and easily, with another spared for a roast. Anyway, since I do consider myself a BA I must go beyond politicak correctness carbonation is medium to high, depending on the warmth of the beer. Biggest problem...is that the feel once again turns more candle like in essence. Still not bad and easy to go down as expected for the style.
Overall - Overall, Despite the low average given on here I will openly and honestly say that this is one of the better pumpkin ales. You can surely do much worse ( Ichabod, Blue Moon ) which are basically nutmeg flavored water. As always the standard is compared to Pumpking. Pumpking has too much pumpkin...WAYYYY overload of Pumpkin. Trust me. Weyerbacher leads the way in this style in my opinion, and this is a fine, albeit different take on the style. I'd buy some more for a trip up to my hunting grounds..

Clear, gold in color with a frothy white head. The aroma is heavy with spice....some malt and hops, but you need to hunt for them through the nutmeg and ginger. The taste is similar....too much spice and not enough malt. Okay, but not my ideal pumpkin ale.

Pours a clear, copper color. 3/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of slight pumpkin, sweet malt, slight alcohol, hint of hop, strong spice, slight yeast, and a hint of tea. Fits the style of a Pumpkin Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a strong dryness associated with the spices. Tastes of slight pumpkin, sweet malt, slight alcohol, hint of hop, strong spice, slight yeast, and a hint of tea. Overall, good appearance, lacking in pumpkin in body and aroma, body is mostly spices.
