The menu did a great job of putting a signature twist on local fare, i.e. Lake Michigan Whitefish and cherries. I had whitefish encrusted with honey mustard pretzels. It was good combination, but a dish that just about anyone could prepare.

The beer menu only had a few options that you cannot find in stores. They did have a cask option, which was nice.

The restaurant is large and open, with an open window into the kitchen. The place is loud and boisterous, but in a good way. It isn't crowded; just a happening place.

A cool feature of the place is the Irish pub beneath the restaurant where you can have a drink while you wait for a table. They buzz you when your table is ready, allowing you to relax at a bar instead of an entryway.

I would absolutely recommend going to North Peak if you are near Traverse City and are a fan of their beer. (851 characters)

Beer is very passable. Food is meh. Big time tourist destination. They are one of the oldest brewpubs in Traverse City and do very well given their location. Nice building. Staff is young and while helpful, kinda douchey. Menu is joe average fare from frozen food supplier without much creativity (if Applebee's is your thing, you'll be fine eating here). Buy the beer in any local store without disappointment or astonishment if you want to try it. Many better choices in town for food. (490 characters)

Walked in on a summer Saturday evening and got seated right away. The place is clean and bright, with the industrial look that others have mentioned.

Our waitress was prompt, courteous and knowledgable about the menu but she see didn't really seem at ease. She seemed confused about the beer sampler, but it came quickly once ordered.

The food came out fast, hot and delicious. I had the skirt steak which came out exactly medium rare as ordered, my wife got the fish. Both entrees were delicious, although the fish was a little too greasy.

Overall, it was a fun place with good food and nice beer. (601 characters)
