A. Fairly cloudy as one would expect. Pours with a good solid head which is retained well. Yeast visible in bottom of glass.
S. Yeasty smell. No presents of hops or malt. Slight banana note.
T. Very well rounded with no excessive malt or hops, the yeast being the star of the show, holding this beer together exceptionally without being in anyway overpowering. Slightly bitter finnish.
M. Very good smooth mouth feel.
O. Out of the four beers tasted during this small tasting this stood out in a different class. Exceptionally well balanced beer. As a personal note I prefer the red and blue Chimay's, the bitterness in this one not personally desired so much in this style.

Poured from their capped bottle into a chalice, nice two finger head, tight small cream colored bubbles, left significant lacing. Did not hold as long as the Chimay red, but certainly above average. Color is a hazy straw orange.
Smell some nuttiness and slightly more hop notes than what I have come to expect from Chimay, but definitely pleasing. As I often say in my reviews, this is not my best area, so I often miss subtle notes.
First taste had an almost almond bright note, then the citrus, last some spice, very subtle peppery bite, not bad, don't panic, it isn't spicy in the sense that it creates heat. Like all of the Chimay brands, other flavors show up as they warm. The chalice is a must!
Mouthfeel is full and rich all the way. Unlike American attempts at this type, the Belgians know how to hide their ABV!
Overall, I prefer Chimay Red, followed by Blue, then this. That being said, this is an outstanding Belgian Triple, well worth the experience, my guess is it is a great first Triple, because the color and aroma will please many different palates.
