I shared a 75cl bottle of this tripel with a good friend and family member a few hours ago and poured it into two separate chimay chalices.
Appearance: gorgeous opaque golden orange in color with a foamy eggshell white head.
Aroma: Not all that fragrant in my personal opinion, but what I was able to smell was orange, honey, and cloves, daffodils, and very hidden yeast and wheat scents.
Flavor: WONDERFUL in taste truly an exquisite beverage, right off the bat I'm greeted by the sensation of orange, honey, cloves, yeast, and wheat gluten with a very slight after taste of hoppy bitterness that works perfectly with the overall combination. After a few more drinks I'm also able to taste Banana, lemon, cinnamon, and slight hints of rose. Throughout the experience it provides a very subtle hint of alcohol but just enough to tickle the taste buds. As it warms up it has a pungent ginger bite to it. Truly marvelous flavor.
Feel: Smooth texture with medium carbonation that easily subsides into a relaxed foam and leisurely slips over the tongue and down the throat. Slight detraction comes from the hoppy bitterness but all in all it feels lovely .
Drinkability: With a taste and mouthfeel like the the one this beer offers I could have easily swallowed the entire bottle's worth. However the amount of alcohol per bottle is the one preventative. All in all a truly wonderful brew that I'm sure will be another purchase of mine in the near future.
