Appearance - Amber/brownish color hazy with some yeast particles floating around in it. A big thick head that takes a long time to settle and leaves a lot of lacing.

Smell - Sweet malt, spices, esters, hops and orange.

Taste - Bread, yeast, pepper, citrus, some hops and little bitterness with alcohol in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Very smooth! Carbonation is just right. Could drink a lot of these if it wasn't for the high abv.

Hazy amber orange color with a huge thick head with great retention and leaving lots of laces.
Fruity aroma with notes of grapes, peaches, Belgian yeast, mango, candi sugar and banana.
Flavor of young wine, white pepper, coriander, apple juice, pear, herbal hops, core of pineapple, bread, almonds and lemon. Dry and mildly bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body with effervescent carbonation. Alcohol of 8% abv is completely well hidden.
Very elegant fruity Tripel with a subtle tartness and superbly well balanced. Complexity comes slowly in small pieces. Huge drinkability for its high abv. Very easy to drink for new lovers and still interesting for experienced.

Had on draught at Crave Kitchen and Bar in El Paso, TX on 28 Jun 2014.

A - Light gold color. Fairly clear. Thick, persistent, creamy white head with lots of lacing.

S - Aroma of lightly bready malt with a grainy twang that seems like Pilsner to me. Spicy noble hops are also prominent. Light cotton candy and spice notes. There was a moderate depth of aroma, but it may have been improved with appropriate glass ware. Unfortunately, mine was served in a standard US pint glass instead.

T - Strong, spicy hops dominate the flavor. Yeast and other ingredients might also contribute to the spice. Some bready malt. Light sugar and cotton candy flavors. Dry finish with lingering spicy hops.

M - Medium body. Creamy, full carbonation. Strong hops bitterness with some alcohol heat. All is in moderation and balance.

O - Overall balanced and drinkable with a surprisingly high level of spicy hops. Very enjoyable. It's no wonder it's considered a world classic of the style.
