A: Light orange color. Hazy with some yeast sediment floating around. It eventually settled. Thick which head. Pretty wispy and light.
S: Very distinct bread and yeast smell. Some light fruit.
T: Very malty. Bready. Plenty of sweetness. Fruit taste reminds me of apple and banana. Little bit of alcohol is coming through - wamth. Not too much hops. This is more about the malt.
M: Light to medium body, but it still seems to coat the mouth. Some suddsy carbonation. Very smooth. Despite the sweetness, there is some dryness.
D: Very nice. Big mallty flavors, and very smooth. Not too boozy.

Poured from their capped bottle into a chalice, nice two finger head, tight small cream colored bubbles, left significant lacing. Did not hold as long as the Chimay red, but certainly above average. Color is a hazy straw orange.
Smell some nuttiness and slightly more hop notes than what I have come to expect from Chimay, but definitely pleasing. As I often say in my reviews, this is not my best area, so I often miss subtle notes.
First taste had an almost almond bright note, then the citrus, last some spice, very subtle peppery bite, not bad, don't panic, it isn't spicy in the sense that it creates heat. Like all of the Chimay brands, other flavors show up as they warm. The chalice is a must!
Mouthfeel is full and rich all the way. Unlike American attempts at this type, the Belgians know how to hide their ABV!
Overall, I prefer Chimay Red, followed by Blue, then this. That being said, this is an outstanding Belgian Triple, well worth the experience, my guess is it is a great first Triple, because the color and aroma will please many different palates.

Pours a fairly clear golden with a lingering frothy ivory head. Notes of green apple, lots of peach, coriander, and clove dominate. The flavor is more subtle, with sharp green apple,a touch of pear, and citrus becoming bready mid palate and finishing peppery and spicy. Great beer, with a well appointed dry character that keeps it refreshing. Bitterness is a touch more than I'd prefer.
