Had this with a buttery Vermont ham and Dijon mustard sandwich. Went pretty well with it.
Clean white head, golden orange and hazy with full lacing.
Spicy esters and phenolic. Fresh pine needles, apple, peaches, barley grain, and a bit medicinal from the phenols.
Starts off with more phenols, alcohol, spicy hops, and a hint of grapefruit. As it warms up, the sweet and soft scrumptious malts shine through quite well. Like a peppery marmalade on toast. Goes great with the Dijon mustard and smoked maple ham.
Good carbonation and body. Creamy and very lively. Compliments the taste well.
Very complex, alcoholic, and a sipper. Packs a punch, but so tasty and a great tripel. Price is an issue, as with most Belgians, but I'd be happy to oblige now and then.
