Had this on DRAFT at Butch's in Holland, Michigan. Not quite sure how they were able to get it, but they got it and boy is it good.
Faded orange in the glass, little bit of translucency and a nice warm glow emanating from the glass. Frothy white head leaves some gobby lacing on the glass.
Warm wheat on the nose, citrus, coriander, under ripe bosch pear, clove, fresh clementine orange, fresh hops, that classic belgian yeast aroma and a dash of delicious.
The taste is exquisite. Complex, delightful, and a joy to drink. Your palate will thank you! Wheat splendor, light citrus fruits, wildflowers, belgian yeastiness, light hops, a tiny tinge of sweetness.
Mouthfeel slightly sweet, a bit of dryness, petite (kleine luchtbel) carbonation, medium bodied, with a bit of bitterness that lingers on the finish.

Poured from their capped bottle into a chalice, nice two finger head, tight small cream colored bubbles, left significant lacing. Did not hold as long as the Chimay red, but certainly above average. Color is a hazy straw orange.
Smell some nuttiness and slightly more hop notes than what I have come to expect from Chimay, but definitely pleasing. As I often say in my reviews, this is not my best area, so I often miss subtle notes.
First taste had an almost almond bright note, then the citrus, last some spice, very subtle peppery bite, not bad, don't panic, it isn't spicy in the sense that it creates heat. Like all of the Chimay brands, other flavors show up as they warm. The chalice is a must!
Mouthfeel is full and rich all the way. Unlike American attempts at this type, the Belgians know how to hide their ABV!
Overall, I prefer Chimay Red, followed by Blue, then this. That being said, this is an outstanding Belgian Triple, well worth the experience, my guess is it is a great first Triple, because the color and aroma will please many different palates.
